Your brand spanking new thread to discuss the latest developments in Weatherfield. I for one will be on tenterhooks until Summer’s exam results come through…

I loved today’s episode, I laughed so much today.

I felt so sorry for Max oh my. I had a feeling it’d be those fake friends too!

carbay · 22/06/2022 22:58

I find it hard to feel sorry for Max, he's horrible.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/06/2022 00:23

Tim with Barbara the "Sex Therapist" 😂😂😂

Honeyroar · 23/06/2022 09:34

I can’t feel that sorry for Max. He was never going to turn out well being brought up by David, who has spent the last ten years acting like a spoiled teenager himself in front of Max. I also think the plot is too similar to the photo storyline about Asha. We don’t need it again!
Why has Audrey suddenly turned into an alcoholic?

Honeyroar · 23/06/2022 09:35

The sex therapy bit was awful. Especially with the random donkey lady!

I usually agree. I can’t stand Max but I when he was on the floor begging, I felt so bad for him!

eggandonion · 23/06/2022 10:11

Audrey has always enjoyed a drink or three, but is now a caricature. So is Gail. They need to go on a nice cruise.
I suppose Max, with adhd, was always going to have issues. His mother was murdered, was that man in the extension his dad? David is married to murderers mum. Etc. The elephant from Thailand is the least of their problems. Daniel could have been a good, calm adult and interested teacher who mentored him. Instead he became part of the chaos.

Deadringer · 23/06/2022 12:07

I think David's shenanigans over the years broke Gail tbh. But why does she have to do cleaning jobs, she always seems to be buzzing around while David and Shona are stretched out on the sofa. Presumably they pay her some rent, she must get the state pension, she should be swanning around just like Audrey.

Spidey66 · 23/06/2022 12:09

I thought the sex therapist/donkey lady confusion funny but since when did that kind of therapy involve home visits?

Ellenanora7 · 23/06/2022 12:59

I thought it was very funny too, even though we knew it was going to happen, as soon as Sally went to Devs and donkey lady was on her rounds it was inevitible that Tim would think she was the sex therapist.

Also Peter and Carla talking about the artwork that could be on Sarahs walls and then Adam just confirms what they were saying was quite funny.

I'm glad they are trying to bring a bit of humour back into it, god knows it needs it.

Think David owns the house. Totally agree. She seems to have no interests of her own just a drudge and a pain

I think the house belongs to Gail - didn't she have to sell it because she got ripped off by Nigel Havers?

eggandonion · 23/06/2022 14:05

Then she inherited money and bought it, complete with sinkhole? Debbie and the hotel man who was possibly called Ray had bought it from David. Maybe...

woodhill · 23/06/2022 14:16

So she did. I had forgotten that.

Lilly has become invisible

eggandonion · 23/06/2022 14:29

Jake turned up with Gary last night, i think? He has forgotten the child he has with phelans daughter who should come back.

Sidisawetlettuce · 23/06/2022 14:55

And Gary referred to Liam as Jake's brother. Erm no- they both have different parents.

MrsPrimulaSpread · 23/06/2022 16:20

Just catching up after a few weeks and as the writers appear to be listening can you tell us what's happened to Tiny and Tracy's kitten?
I'm concerned and annoyed you've just abandoned them poor ned & puss Grin

eggandonion · 23/06/2022 17:12

Not many of the pets are around now, David the Dog and Rover are forgotten.
Gary needs to read this thread and have a diagram of children and parents.

eddiemairswife · 23/06/2022 17:54

I agree. Constantly get confused between Jake and Jack, and Liam's asthma has been forgotten.

Step brothers then. I generally refer to my step siblings as siblings. So do my dc with their steps.

eggandonion · 23/06/2022 18:29

Curtis, Clayton etc always confused me.

timestheyarechanging · 23/06/2022 21:23

I only discovered last night whilst watching with my mum & dad (75 and 80 and watched since the beginning) that there's only 7yrs between Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and Gail (Helen Worth)!!

My dad also insisted that both actresses wear wigs. I had to show him pics of them in RL to prove him wrong!

Bored of Max.

timestheyarechanging · 23/06/2022 21:29

Although I did feel sorry for Max when the school bullies made him beg, that was awful.
I'm just bored of him careering from one dreadful situation to the next.

MichaelAndEagle · 23/06/2022 21:36

I think they're doing a good job of showing that teenage boys are both awful and vulnerable at the same time.
He's still a young lad.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 23/06/2022 23:49

I actually* think *they’ve done quite a good job of building up the signs of a drink problem over some time. The problem is that, because soaps so often seem to ignore storylines for months on end and then ‘revisit’ them, it’s easy to forget things like Audrey bumping the car (and didn’t she get drunk when it was Lily’s nativity play or something?) It’s like we all have to jog our memories every time there’s a new development.
