Your brand spanking new thread to discuss the latest developments in Weatherfield. I for one will be on tenterhooks until Summer’s exam results come through…

*that

Btw I'm not suggesting she's married to him of course, but maybe someone in his family?

And speaking of Wendy and remembering stuff from years ago, did she say her surname now was Papadopolous or similar? Because the was the name of Emily Nugent's boss when she worked at the laundry in t'early days

Are you sure your not thinking of Mr Popadopolous who was the launderette boss in eastenders? But unimaginative if they both had launderette owners of the same name Grin

Maybe it’s a chain of launderettes and Mr Popadopoulos owns another one in Hotten too.

carbay · 20/06/2022 07:26

Mr P was Emily Nugent's boss, often spoken about but never seen.

SpinningRoundRightRound · 20/06/2022 20:29

Oh dear I don't think I'm going to be able to bear this saga about Max. He makes Wendy Crozier look like Dame Maggie Smith.

Housewife2010 · 20/06/2022 20:44

Max is a terrible actor. He keeps putting staccato pauses in all his lines for dramatic emphasis. Maybe he was inspired by Tony Blair's People's Princess speech? Also his eyebrows look plucked.

JemimaTab · 20/06/2022 20:49

Max’s acting is really stylised and unnatural.

JellyBeanFactory · 20/06/2022 20:51

Oh Lordy. We're going to have to suffer Sally & Tim's sex therapy sessions aren't we?

carbay · 20/06/2022 21:02

Sex and Tim don't belong in the same sentence. Dear me no....

Max has ADHD.
The staccato pauses, slight stammer, tone of his speech, rapidly changing emotions are spot on.

Please god no 🙏🙏🙏

Riddlediddle · 20/06/2022 22:38

Max's acting is beyond bad. I think I acted better in my infant nativity play!!!
He's in the same league as Craig with all of the 'dramatic' pauses and swallowing and scared faces. Absolutely terrible making their characters so unbelievable

lollipoprainbow · 21/06/2022 05:46

The actor who plays max is 19!

Clawdy · 21/06/2022 20:53

Oddly I thought Max looked a bit like Craig tonight! Never seen that before.

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 21/06/2022 23:00

Yes. She had the same surname when she last reappeared.

She was in one of my favourite scenes back then. She, Ken, Deirdre, Brian and Julie were all at the school fete trying the cakes, and Wendy and Ken both said they weren’t all that keen on cake. Wendy said she’d prefer ‘a big gooey lump of Stilton on a cracker - especially with a fig’. Deirdre replied, ‘Tell me, Wendy - where do you stand on Manchester tart?’

Later on Deirdre was getting upset and telling Julie ‘Ken likes a big gooey lump of Stilton too’. Julie tried to reassure her and said ‘Look at the size of that backside! SHE’S no stranger to cake’ 😆

How much more of a simpleton can the scriptwriters make of Gail? The demise and dumbing down of Gail as a viewer is painful to watch, she used to be such a strong character, when I watch classic Corrie, Helen Worths acting was so good, I must admit I cringe when I watch her playing Gail now.

lollipoprainbow · 22/06/2022 06:27

Loved the scenes with Gail and Audrey in the pub but yes Gail's a long way from the character she used to be. Her monologue behind the net curtains a few years ago was wonderful.

Please can Julie come back !!

carbay · 22/06/2022 08:06

I have to agree about Gail, she's constantly ridiculed by her children, it's uncomfortable to watch at times.

pedropony76 · 22/06/2022 13:40

She’s unbearable

Housewife2010 · 22/06/2022 20:11

I love Sally & Tim tonight.
Tim "I don't want to talk about the ins & outs of our sex life"
Sally "There are no ins and outs. That's the problem."

eggandonion · 22/06/2022 20:26

I want to rescue max, he looks so sad.

ilovebrie8 · 22/06/2022 20:32

Poor max! They are nasty bullies...

ilovebrie8 · 22/06/2022 20:32

Ooh Ryan is back !!

Emmas85 · 22/06/2022 21:02

Anyone else have an awful feeling Audrey will die on her own having argued with everyone?

eggandonion · 22/06/2022 21:04

I hope she's ok, maybe Rita will look after her now they are mates.
