Have they explained why Hayley is no longer working at the factory and Janice is now supervisor? I thought the prison storyline would be her maternity leave exit but apparently not!

I assume she effectively “resigned” by doing a bunk, but it doesn’t seem to have been confirmed on screen, and you’d think she’d have gone begging to Baldwin by now. Presumably it hasn’t happened as she’ll have to disappear soon.

If, like me, you’ve been looking at Charlie’s birth mother thinking “Ooh, where do I know her from?” - I finally remembered to look her up and she was Paddy’s mother in Emmerdale.

I wonder, are Dev’s parents supposed to still be alive? He never mentions them, but I don’t remember them being killed off. Although I do remember a lot of his family refused to come to Sunita’s funeral because she was believed to have been an arsonist.

It’s definitely gone a bit slow but I think it’s going to ramp up. I’m not really invested in Gina and Dev or Sunita and Dougie and they’re getting a lot of screen time at the moment

ah I have got a few episodes to catch up on! I’m only on the episode after where Janice got bought a deep fat fryer and tried to snog Dennis.

The Sunita and Duggie coupling felt like they had two characters with no obvious direction and someone wondered if they might make more than the sum of their parts as a couple.

Janice is good.

I couldn’t believe when Eileen celebrated her 40th birthday recently and they mentioned Janice was years off it.. I looked it up, she’s 33 at the moment in 2001!
strange how when you get older yourself, you still see people older than you are. I’m 36 and I thought Janice was still way older than me in 2001!

Wow, Janice is 33, same age as me now, I'd have said she was mid 40s. It's strange, I'd have been 12 when I first watched these episodes, back then I'd have thought 33 was well old so I do wonder whether I just still perceive the characters as being older if that makes sense.

How old is Toyah? She must be at least 19 by now so Janice was a very young mum.

I think Vicky Entwistle was 33 but the character of Janice was meant to be a few years older- Corriepedia has Janice's date of birth as 1965 and Toyah's as 1982, so they would have been 36 and 19 at this point and she had Toyah when she was 17. I was also surprised to hear her say she had a few years until she was 40 though!

According to Corriepaedia Janice was born in 1965 and Toyah 1982, making Janice 36 in 2001.
