Anyone watching yet? I'm 3 episodes in, liking it so far but starting to get slightly confused by there being so many characters.

I love James Nesbitt Blush

I’ve seen 4 and really like it and not confused yet. Also pleased there are 8 episodes!

Pearlpink · 01/01/2022 09:45

I finished watching it yesterday, it was an enjoyable watch. Wish they had more similar things on Netflix.

Presume you've watched Safe and The Stranger?

I read somewhere that Netflix signed a deal with Coben to make 14 books into series? If so, that's a lot to look forward to if we're only 3 down so far

Yes I've watched the first 4 and really enjoying it.
I'm loving Barbie & Ken, they make a refreshing change. I also like the fact that there are several did get characters in it.

whywouldntyou · 01/01/2022 09:55

Harlan Coben is one of my favourite authors, will definitely be watching this! Not started yet.

For those who are fans, Robert Crais is also brilliant.

Guacamole001 · 01/01/2022 18:01

On the first episode. Really enjoying it so far.

RedPandaWanda · 01/01/2022 19:45

On episode 7, started last night will finish it tonight. I’ve been finding tv really boring recently but am loving this.

Walesrecommendations · 01/01/2022 19:46

On episode 7,started it today Blush really like it, just want to know what happens now.

RedPandaWanda · 01/01/2022 19:47

Think I’ve worked out who the killer is but obviously won’t say 🤫

Newgirls · 01/01/2022 20:07

What age would you say this is for pls? Is it very violent?

Gardeningcreature · 01/01/2022 23:15

Newgirls they put a warning at the start that it is violent and shows sexual threats ( or something along those lines). I don’t have young kids but I’d say definitely not for under 12 year olds maybe not for under 16 year olds. It’s the violence mainly.
I’ve just finished watching it all and I did enjoy it. I found they characters different from the usual cop shows.

foxlover47 · 02/01/2022 00:36

Just finished it and really enjoyed it! I like most things Richard armitage 😍 is in!
They really translate Harlens books over to tv so well don't they

I am on episode 2 and there is an unbelievable violent scene against a young woman. I had to switch it off.
gertie445 · 02/01/2022 08:39

It's fabulous, I binge watched it. It's too violent for under 16 I'd say, plus some creepy images near the end.
I didn't predict the killer, it was very well done.

gertie445 · 02/01/2022 08:41

And yes, Barbie and ken were a fun addition, if you get what I mean.

AsYouWishButtercup · 02/01/2022 09:22

On episode 2 and really enjoying but like with the last Harlan Coben drama I feel like I have to keep a spreadsheet to keep up with all the characters!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 02/01/2022 09:24

Loved it. Binge watched the whole thing yesterday. Didn't guess the ending. Thought I had guessed part of it but was wrong!

I did you can't do anything else when you watch a Harlan Coben, can't be on your phone or anything have to just watch it!
SweetPotatoDumpling · 02/01/2022 09:38

Finished it last night...utterly brilliant!

Barbie and Ken scared the shit out of me 😱😬

I started to guess the killer in episode 7 (won't say exactly what point as it will give it away...but it wasn't glaringly obvious, just a hunch, by something they said.)

Bloody love Richard Cartwright and James Nesbitt! Sarah Parish is always completely brilliant, and Cush Jumbo is outstanding...I saw her in A Doll's House playing Nora years ago, and I said then that she was going to be huge ♥️

British drama at its finest.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/01/2022 10:45

Binged this, it was brilliant. Barbie and Ken were absolutely terrifying Shock

SapatSea · 02/01/2022 11:54

Who was Frances? (the old lady in the very posh nursing home) was she Dave's mum, or someone Cassie/Meghan knew from her work (which we never saw her do or go to) as she seemed to know Meghan's real name?
LOL that no one on the desk ever saw her "visitors" and that Meghan had completely "disappeared" a few miles up the road. Ray (unlike Lorraine who easily tracked Cassie down in episode 1) had obviously never tried Google and the Police had not checked name changes by deed poll ?

It was all very silly but bingeable. The scenes at the "safe house" were laughably unbelievable. I guessed the Killer. The daughter was so chilled about it all.

Newgirls · 02/01/2022 13:31

Thanks all - sounds good but not one for my teens prob

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/01/2022 14:43

Francis was Dave’s mum

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/01/2022 14:43

She had confided in her about her past, despite not telling Dave!

PriamFarrl · 02/01/2022 15:16

I’m on episode two. I will confess that my heart sank when I saw Eddie Izzard in the cast listing but not as annoying as I expected in the end.

What I find odd is that the books are always set in America but the books are set in England. Somehow they don’t quite translate.
