Just finished episode one and need to talk about it!!!

Didn't like much of the episode to be honest. But the ending! I'm floored! Was not expecting that.

The bit that pissed me off the most was when the professor was having that shoe horned ivf discussion on the phone with her partner. It was just so forced.

I also disliked the way they seemed to make out was that 55 was practically dead. DH is 52 and he acts or looks nothing like as old. My dad lost some hearing from 50s onward but Steve acted like he was infirm. The only ones who weren't behaving like they had one foot in the grave was Antony and Stamford (god I love Antony - no one does want to see the brides beaver)

I also hated the podcast - not the content so much although that was a bit ick but the self congratulatory way it was filmed with hot producer guy laughing at the 'provoking' content - gosh how daring were they eh old people. Cringe.

I also didn't like the Che character bullying - if you don't act like I say I'll sack you. How was that ok?

I did like Steve saying to Brady that he and Miranda needed a hug - the start of that switch in parent/child relationships where you realise caring is a two way thing. I liked Harry (always a fave) with Rose and how he still clearly adored all his girls. Charlottes friends husband needing a drink to get through the recital, Antony on the app with the hot guys.

I am not sure why Brady and his girlfriend came to the recital - I get Rose, Lily and Brady are like cousins but what 17 year old goes to a piano concert of his friends mums kid?

So some nice bits and preferred the second to the first. I will watch the rest but I hope it chills out a bit.

It's the reality of everywhere I've worked, in fact Che was a lot nicer about it than I've ever heard in real life, my experience or that of others.

Thanks to the pp who looked up the law. Here, I was heavily warned by my solicitor that marriage would make my will null and void. Funny how it all varies to such extremes.

Charlotte’s friend’s husband (so LTW’s husband who needed a drink at the recital) is played by Chris Jackson who was George Washington is the original Broadway production of Hamilton.

If he sings, I will melt.

Why was Carrie more upset at her wedding getting cancelled than Big dying.

The woke stuff was annoying and spoiled the whole thing. We all know it’s aged badly but doesn’t mean you have to swing the pendulum totally the other way. I don’t like Che.

Anthony is still the best.

Surely that's normal. If someone is hired for a podcast then a certain type of personality/level of sharing would be expected. She said she was really funny at the interview so of course the same thing would be expected.

It was noticeable that they reminded us about Carrie’s old apartment so I think the pp who predict ex-wives with a claim on Big’s estate are on to something. Carrie will have to sell up or move out. Frankly if it’s Natasha I will be here for it - Carrie and Big both treated her absolutely appallingly and I’d quite enjoy a storyline where she got her revenge.
Selling up would fit with one of the new Samanthas being an estate agent. She wasn’t in the first ep.

I can’t believe they killed Big

I loved the Che actress as Cally Torres in Greys, I don’t like her in this at all, I think the character is a horrible dykey caricature

Charlottes face is indeed puffy snd weird

NFW would Miranda be so dappy and I don’t like her being set up to be a drunk

It was ridiculously woke, annoying

Overall I thought it was humourless and a bit depressing but I will watch it all, obvs because it’s SATC

SJP looks amazing. They all do. Charlotte doesn't look that bad I don't think at all. I wonder if they're trying to say sorry to KC? Not that she should forgive.

Just watched the trailer for the next episode. I wonder how much time is supposed to have passed between episodes? Because Carrie doesn't look particularly sad that Big just died.

@chiefcha I think they played out grief stricken Carrie when Big didn't turn up at the wedding enlighten. Pretty sure we didn't need to see all that kind of grief again. Considering there are only 10 episodes too, I think life will move quickly through them.

I've watched the new trailer. The actress telling Carrie to get her socials up reminds me of the 'this is not non fat' girl who interviewed for Carrie's PA job in the first SATC film!

I watched the first one just to see if Big was dead or going to die, as I’d seen some pics of SJP filming with another man. I thought it was dreadful, and now that Big is dead there’s no reason for me to keep watching.

They did shoehorn the suggestion of death in with the emergency nitro glycerine pill and the Peleton.

I thought the first episode was very clunky and the second one really moved me. The awful way self centred people behave at funerals was quite piercing. I'm 61 and I think I am not as old or frail as these characters all are now. Agree that Miranda was always switched on and would not be as bumbling as she is being portrayed. Can't wait for next week.
