Teacher student relations are complex. The girl who sat in front of me in French married a pe teacher, they are married about 40 years now.
I, on the other hand, babysat for a lecherous history teacher.

I am not stating that a teacher (or anyone Daniels age) sleeping with a 17 year old is morally acceptable and I know that it is gross misconduct and the individual would not teach again. I’m just wondering if there have ever been successful prosecutions as I’m not aware of any.

There have been- I googled "teacher jailed sixth former" and several news stories came up.

Nope, I have no idea what is going to happen to Daniel but knowing the number of miscarriages of justice on Corrie (and the need to use the prison set as you said) it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up in prison

I know someone who knows that girl (if we're thinking of the same one it was over 10 years ago). Wasn't she 14/15 at the time?

Sorry, just to clarify I meant that several news stories came up about teachers being prosecuted for sexual relationships with sixth formers in real life, rather than anything related to Corrie.

When I was in school 20ish years ago there was a teacher who quit his job suddenly and then very quickly was in a relationship with a girl who had just left the same school so she was 16 and she got pregnant what must have been immediately. The official line was that they started seeing each other over the summer but the timing was incredibly close and everyone assumed he quit because they were already seeing each other and then the pregnancy meant it wouldn’t be a secret anymore.

BTW did summer actually tell Daisy that the police thought Summer was hiding in the flat? That seemed to be an obvious thing to tell her and ask her if she would tell the police the truth but I didn’t hear her saying it. Daisy telling the police the truth would go down way to resolving the issue!

They shared a flat years ago, but they do seem to have been thrown back together a bit since the whole Tyrone and Alina storyline. I think they just needed a cheerleader for Fiz and conveniently forgot the weird storyline where Maria made Tyrone think Kirsty was stalking him.
