The grandson was called John, and Curtis was definitely called Curtis so I think that would be a plot twist too far even for Corrie! 😂 Maybe John Stape still isn’t really dead!

I think we should all share our most outlandish theories on John’s identity. What about:

1. Ted, who was actually much older than he appeared and fathered his first child at a remarkably young age, was the secret grandfather of Johnny Connor. Ted’s death brings several secret Connors out of the woodwork - all of whom swear revenge on Emma, Faye, David Platt and Debbie Webster, as well as contesting Johnny’s will.

2. Ted, disapproving of his daughter’s decision to marry a Romanian, refused to call his grandson by his Romanian name of Jan and always called him John. Whilst helping George organise the funeral, Eileen is shocked to recognise Jan - her former boyfriend and undercover informant. Who will she choose??

3. John was actually born Joanne before transitioning. Collecting mourners from the funeral, Steve begins to think he knows John from somewhere… how will he react when he realises John is in fact his former girlfriend Joanne Khan, who was pregnant with his child when she left him? And how will Zeedan react when he learns his ex-wife is yet another of Steve’s secret daughters??

Adam and Sarah continue to bicker, will Sal find out about Tim's dodgy ticker? Corrie's plot thickens or is it just getting thicker?

Theory 4 - John is actually John Duckworth, love child from Terry’s later years of playing the field. He’ll marry Emma/Amy/Asha/Summer, not before purchasing his ancestral home from Tyrone and Fizz, restoring the Duckworth name back to fhe street for generations to come.

So bizarre the sinkholes get no mention any more. You'd have thought Adam and Imran would be having a field day.

Plus the Platts happily carry on living with it in their garden, as if it’s a minor inconvenience rather than a fatal trapdoor.

Weren’t Jenny and Carla blaming David for Johnny’s death? Has that just been forgotten? Along with the fact that Carla was upset that Johnny left everything (apparently only £20k) to Jenny? I thought Carla was meant to have gone off somewhere for weeks to get over it all - then one day she just walked into the bistro and no one even mentioned she’d been away. So many forgotten storylines.

I stopped watching last week as Emma’s ditziness went of the scale, and they stole another EastEnders storyline with the Tim/ Stuart Heart/ cancer storyline where Addie/ Sonia is sworn to secrecy and the wives Sally /Rainia Don’t know!!

So thanks all as this thread is a more amusing way of keeping up to date!

Oh no… I just thought - is surrogacy where the Lydia storyline is heading? I have terrible visions of her doing a soap stalker/baby snatcher routine. I really hope I’m wrong.
