I agree re sally and Gail's personality transplants. I can't remember when Gail transitioned to idiot, but Sally changed many years ago - when she suddenly decided Rosie had to go to private school, I think Rosie was 11 or 12. Sally became very Annie Walker and she does it well but I don't know why they took her in that direction.

The Maria prison thing is very odd too but they do that all the time. Even fact Sally has a step-daughter living at home on appeal of assault, and Tims dad being abusive would normal be all over local papers.

I actually think that’s a quite realistic plot line. I had similar struggles with my mum and auntie, absolutely insistent that they were still fit to drive when they really were a danger and needed to stop. (Wasn’t down to eyes, just old age)

And also Maria having a go at Sally for going to prison for fraud (for which she was acquitted) Maria really did commit fraud! and served a prison sentence! This seems to have been completely forgotten by the writers, why does no one point this out? I find it infuriating as a viewer. Also can you hold public office if you have been convicted of fraud?

What did Maria do fraudulently out of interest?

Thank you both for the answer re the £4k, I didn't realise Steve gave him that much. We still don't know what Curtis was actually doing though do we, I think we just saw him lurking by the bins talking to a random? He certainly hasn't told Emma everything (I thought the actress was really good last night).

I wondered if they were going for a macular degeneration storyline with Audrey, but possibly is just that she needs specs, or maybe has cataracts. In The Archers, Jill Archer went through a similar cataract drama a few years ago, which was easily resolved.

Audrey was worried about being dependant so she totally moves in straight away and can’t even go home to pack as she’s in capable. Soaps always go same way person becomes carer and immediate falls into harassed over worked and shouty in space of 24h because they can’t cope. This should be a fun Xmas.
