More Corrie ‘excitement’…

The Mrs Magoo reference was meant to be funny but how many people under the age of seventy know who Mr Magoo was?! Someone David's age would surely never have heard of him?

Akire · 17/12/2021 22:27

I think they should almost be doing Audrey and alcohol story line. She’s been drinking like a fish for years and Constantly seems to be drinking anytime of the day at home or bistro or pub. Plenty of new lockdown alcoholics. Gail should go live with her in her home what’s not to like?

nildesparandum · 17/12/2021 22:28

Emma is starting to get on my nerves.Dithering constantly over forgiving Curtis, and putting her sad little face on.
If they do get married will she still wear pink?

eggandonion · 18/12/2021 00:06

Imagine getting a graduated bob done by Audrey in the afternoon after a couple of vodkas.
Everyone is a bit annoying, i can't imagine wanting to be mates with anyone, except Moira from the health centre who vanished, dr badass and dr ali.George is ok. And detective hairstyle has a good line in sarcasm.

Spidey66 · 18/12/2021 00:34

Mr Magoo was a cartoon character whose short sightedness and denial of it caused comic storylines. David is far too young to remember it. I got the reference but I'm 55!

I'm 54 and know who Mr Magoo is!

How did Maria get an appointment so quickly for her laryngitis? Which had disappeared in the next indoor scene! Poor continuation

PennyRoyal · 18/12/2021 12:12

Anyone notice that last night Emma's flat seemed to have been finally redecorated after Hope's fire-starter act?

I do think there were some funny lines last night (especially David), hopefully that writer will stay!

Akire · 18/12/2021 12:19

Why hasnt Gary had any story lines? Apart from pushing envelope through Adams door for Kelly. He’s like little prop supporting Maria. He could have offered Stu a place to stay I dare say staying in glorified shed/workshop had far less insurance problems than barbers. He could even be night watch man.

I’m glad at least Stu seems to be staying

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 18/12/2021 12:29

Did they say why Billy, the vicar, who runs the soup kitchen doesn’t know of any accommodation that can take stu?

Akire · 18/12/2021 12:31

He said he would ring around local places and ask if had spaces. So he would be aware of standard local charities. Would make sense he wouldn’t know about any beds on given night.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 18/12/2021 12:38

Ahhh thank you. I zone out far too much during Corrie now.

Gwennid · 18/12/2021 12:59

The envelope to Adam from Gary contained £7000 didn't it? I cant quite remember what it was for though and what happened to it.

Akire · 18/12/2021 13:00

It was to pay for someone to look at blood stains on her shoes? To add doubt to her being guilty one. Which went down toilet as they found her guilty as shoes were in plastic bag by mistake. Hope he got a refund!

I’m guessing the scenes were filmed out of order and the actress had laryngitis for real.

Yes I think same money, I’m not sure even private doctors/nhs hustle charge £4000 for a 10min appointment in nhs hospital. Or maybe his dad leant him money in order stop
Him ripping off another family.

The doctor said he wouldn’t charge him, but wanted him to get help, so he never actually spent the money.

Leanne had really bad voice about two weeks ago bet it went through the cast like crazy

WomanStanleyWoman · 18/12/2021 13:17

Sorry for the flurry of posts - I’ve been bingeing a few days’ worth Grin

I really like Amy, but didnt some of her dialogue the other night sound a bit ‘old’? When she sarcastically said ‘That’s a sound foundation for a marriage’ - it just didn’t sound like something an 18 year-old would say.

Akire · 18/12/2021 13:23

I guess with however many marriages her parents have had between them Steve what 5? Tracey least 3? She’s always been more mature given how much he parents argue.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 18/12/2021 13:34

I had a best friend from around 16 who was very realistic about relationships and would have said something exactly like what Amy said at that age. I think she got it from her mum who had left her abusive father when she was small and had been very honest with her about men. She was spot on about every idiot I ever dated despite her young years.

thenightsky · 18/12/2021 13:52

I've been trying to think what Curtis's facial hair reminds me of and I've just got it... He's turning into one of the Three Musketeers!

Gwennid · 18/12/2021 14:00

That’s a very good point actually. I think she’s had to grow up quickly.

I also think the Audrey storyline is realistic. She’s always been young for her years, and has had to be very independent since Alf died - age is finally catching up with her.
