Came on to see what everyone thought of the first episode tonight but can’t find a thread. Where are my people?

And also because the thing so many fans wanted to happen finally happened, even if it was about a hundred seasons too late

(trying not to be too spoiler-y but I’m referring to what took place in the lift)

They have all become as selfish and demanding as they always accused meredith as being

Why can't she leave. Why is she responsible for everyone else's shit all of the time. They built her up to be something she could never be and are now punishing her for not being something created totally in their own.heads. we are meant to accept eveeyone else's flaws and mistakes but not hers

She should have told them.all to fuck off several seasons ago

I still found it a bit of a bore fest! Really don't care about Meredith, Mr Maggie, Teddy and Owen, Meredith's new man etc.
Nice to see Jackson though

Also the flash backs were a bit much!

How does Meredith get to be chief though, when she ignored the sensible instruction not to do that big operation during a blood shortage? Someone died but ah well, nevermind!
In good news we hopefully have seen the end of Teddy and Owen!

On a side note , can anyone confirm that its exclusively gay men excluded from giving blood for 3 months if they have had sex . Or is it everyone who's had unprotected sex in the last 3 months ( presumably because it can take 4-6 weeks for the virus to show) or potentially been exposed via drugs/prostitution/unprotected sex

I'm.curious as to whether the point they made of not wanting gay man blood was true?

The show seems to always shoe horn something in and often misses out valuable information or misses the point completely in doing so.

@Whatwouldscullydo if I remember correctly when I last gave blood there was a checklist of questions. It asked if I had had anal sex in the last three months as that would exclude me from giving blood (I am female). It so happened that I had had a colonoscopy in the last three months and whilst it didn’t exclude me it did mean they added an extra screening test to my blood sample.

So its not so much that gay men are deliberately singled out its the anal sex that's the increased risk and that affects some straight couples but predominantly gay men?

What was it that happened in the lift?! I saw the episode and I’m not sure!

Wow that was bad! What did I miss in the lift?! So many clunky preachy storylines involving increasingly unlikeable characters. Apparently Webber, Bailey, Teddy and Owen won't be in it. So it will definitely be the Meredith Gray show. Why o why didn't they call it a day with this series end?!

Teddy and Owen, fine, but Webber and Bailey - no way!

If Bailey leaves like this it will be so sad after all these years. She is such an amazing character. And I love Richard, for all his flaws.
I didn't mind Meredith's new man, he seemed to be showing a bit of character this episode, and he very much reminds me of Derek to look at, although I think he can do better than Meredith. God, she's dull! I don't even mind Kai, if the writers could leave off with all the preaching!

I got excited at the start when I thought they'd done a time jump and Katherine was dead! But no!

Do not get me started on kai.most pointless character ever. Planted only to show everyone how amazing the cast are in making themselves sound like idiots with the whole they thing.

I mean amelia is a neuro surgeon who's own brain tumor was discovered during research on the female orgasm and who gave birth to a baby with no brain. Shes very aware of the female body.

Seriously they are all drs. They cant possibly believe it. How stupid do the writers think we are 🙄

I just blubbed my way through that last episode. Meredith has been shoved into an impossible position that she didn't want. And Jackson completely bullied her into it.

Hopefully April will come back - she was fun!

All those flashbacks reminded me how much I loved the old characters... Christina, Alex, Izzie, George, Derek, Lexi, Mark... and how little I care about the current cast! Except Jo. I like her. And Richard.

I'm Also only watching out of loyalty. Last series was dire (the covid season), apart from the Derek airtime. Interested to see what happens next though.

I really feel for Meredith, she gave her notice and said she would stay and work through fixing the resident programme and everyone was shitty to her about it.
Now they just get up and walk out leaving her to be chief!
This was her chance for her happy ending, a good man, a good job and to get away from all the trauma she has suffered at Grey Sloane.

I'm glad to see the back of Owen and Teddy, hopefully they stay gone.
To be honest there is very few characters I care about anymore.

Ok, I sobbed!

Just caught up on Greys, I sobbed my way through it! Poor Meredith just wants to leave all her ghosts behind and they are forcing her to stay.

Loved this last episode, after limping my way through the last couple of seasons. Did anyone else notice the music was all from previous iconic episodes, eg "The Story" was the song Callie sung in the musical episode many moons ago.

Hopefully out with the old (Teddy & Owen I'm looking at you) and in with some new, fresh, interesting characters for next season! Please Shonda 🙏🏼

I didn't realise that was the end of the season.
I suppose it makes sense to start the new season with Meredith as chief.

watching has been more of a chore than a pleasure.
glad Owen and Teddy are gone. Hope they stay away.
wish Schmidt had stayed away.
hope We have seen last of Meredith’s boring man
ditto boring Maggie and her boring man.

lovely to see Jackson and April - a couple who actually have chemistry together! (Unlike Meredith with anyone but Derek and Maggie with any man)
wish Link and Jo would get together and be happy.

I see today that Ellen is going to be in limited episodes of season 19, what's everyone thinking might happen?
Do we think this is the last one?

If that's the case then I truly believe they need to end it.

I haven't even caught up with this latest season yet after religiously watching every episode usually, it should have ended a season or 2 ago.
