Came on to see what everyone thought of the first episode tonight but can’t find a thread. Where are my people?

@Papergirl1968 Shonda seems all for the politically correct messages this season (& the last few), that's why I reckon they're non-binary.

I must admit I'm a bit lost this series. I guess I wasn't paying attention in the last series or two, and I've lost track of who is having a relationship with who, whose baby is who etc. It's just not holding my interest but I need to see it through to the bitter end...

I'm only on the first episode of S18 and I've had to force myself to watch it, it's so boring but I'm invested now!

Did they do something with Meredith and the Irish doctor off screen? I couldn't work it out, she said she was with someone but his child didn't like it (or something like that) and he referred to a similar thing when talking to Bailey, but I'd swear I never saw any of that happen? I'll admit my attention wanders when I'm watching these days, but I felt like I'd missed a few episodes or something.

Yes - all offscreen & only mentioned in passing. I'm glad they're done though - I'd like him to get with Jo but not sure what they're planning to do with any of the characters.

I don't think Shonda has written Greys for 4-5 seasons now?

She's still heavily involved @covetingthepreciousthings and that's also the reason for them heavily pushing S19 with the crossovers (or at least from what I've read)

I thought this weeks offering was one of the worst ever!

I don’t care about Owen and I’m fed up with car crashes and major characters. We’ve had Callie and Arizona, Derek and now Owen

The only decent bit was Schmidt finally being shown to be inept.

Greys has got really disappointing this season. I prefer Mirandas character in S19 more than in Greys. I agree its time to bring it to an end

I don't care about Owen either @TrashyPanda - it's crazy to think he's been in it for so long and was with the fabulous Cristina as he seems like such a waste of a character to me! No decent storylines and not likeable at all. Even all the Teddy stuff - who cares. She'd have been better off with the guy she cheated on him with as at least there was chemistry between them!

Schmidt annoys me too - actually most of them do although the new doctor who likes Bailey is gorgeous!

I could see the car crash coming, all 3 of them in the car, it was so predictable

Tbh I’d be fine with killing all 3 of those characters off tbh and Owens’s annoying sister and Farouk, one fell swoop!

Amelia and Kai fgs, totally annoying too

Poor Linc but obvs he’ll end up with Jo now.

Quite enjoyed that episode, although It was pretty obvious what was going to happen. Didn't they say massive stroke for the driver? I'd have guessed heart attacks as he clutched his chest. None of them seemed very bothered about him though.
Does Owen die? Do we care? Not really but if one of them was going to die I'd rather it be Teddy, who irritates the hell out of me.

I’d love to see her come back, although I know that isn’t going to happen.

Is it just me who wonders why they forgot to give Maggie an actual character? She is just sort of “there” - bland and boring, and never seems to be terribly good, even though we were told she was a child genius.

Meredith doesn’t seem to give a damn about her kids, does she? She’s away from them for months due to Covid, now she’s away every week at A N Other hospital in some other state (so bored by this storyline I can’t be bothered remembering where it is)

It's a real conundrum as to who is the most annoying character, Teddy, Owen, his sister, new love interest for Amelia, Schmidt and more besides!

Argh. This series is awful. I only really care about if Warren and Bailey get Pru, but I'm pissed off that it will be dragged out forever and given the other families money and legal knowledge, this isn't going to go well I am sure.

The car crash was so predictable as is Amelia's love affairs and Linc walking in on them. Plus Jo falling for Linc. Oh and Shmit messing up.

Pru is from Station 19 - one of the firefighters died and Pru was his dd - he wanted Miranda and Ben to adopt her if he died but his family are fighting it

Oh I only yot the last 16 minutes of it for some reason.. What happened with Schmidt?! I wouldn't even notice if Owen or Teddy wasn't in it again tbh. Agree re Meredith and her children... Ridiculous plus they've never given a minute's worry or bother despite all the upheaval!

Yy re Meredith’s children. Last season she nearly died until Zola brought her back from DeathBeach, then she vanishes off to Minnesota
