Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

Has anyone on this thread done any decluttering based on watching Stacey

No, but I've thought about it a lot! Not sure that counts Grin
FusionChefGeoff · 23/11/2021 12:08

@ElephantOfRisk I'd say there's an argument for only 4 soaps really!! Justifying 9 so easily on a thread about decluttering does t bode well... Grin

I love love this show!

hee hee, to be fair, I'm not sure if I have over 9 but I suspect i might...

ElephantOfRisk · 23/11/2021 12:21

without raking about, I appear to have 19 hand soap bottles plus a bag of refill stuff. 6 are in active use. 3 in toilets/bathrooms, 2 in the kitchen (!) and one in the utility room.

pastypirate · 23/11/2021 12:56

@LeonoraFlorence

I agree with your DD. If they got rid of all but 1 fondue fork, they could keep their very sentimental things more easily. I think they need a system whereby they start with easier things (toiletries, kitchen utensils etc) then see what space they have last and deal with the important bits!
This is what I mean!! It does show perhaps the participants getting upset for no reason on this basis
pastypirate · 23/11/2021 12:59

The Cornish house was the best yet I reckon. The most emotional and the nicest house in amazing location drowned in junk. That house must be worth a loads of dough now and expect the parents are mortgage free. It was gorgeous.

PermanentTemporary · 23/11/2021 17:13

I've definitely considered unpacking one room into the garden... perhaps not in November!

Clean it fix it in everyday day 345 bbc2

Second favourite organising programme. And much more achievable as they concentrate on improving specific areas like hallway.

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 20:27

Thanks for the tip @Rummikub, I've just started episode 1 on iplayer and it looks like just my kind of thing. If only I was doing the stuff instead of watching it!

Rummikub · 24/11/2021 20:51

😂😂yes I felt the same. About 20 mins in I thought I might get motivated. But it soon passed!

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 20:54

It's actually making me feel better as my sofa is not full of old food :)

Rummikub · 24/11/2021 20:59

I really like the woman in it that does the cleaning. Has a lovely way about her.

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 21:08

Yes, although they all seem lovely, can't believe how old Tommy looks since the last time I saw him on TV.

Rummikub · 24/11/2021 21:17

That did make me a little sad to see how frail he looks.

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 21:21

I've just looked up and he's 64. He doesn't look elderly (which he isn't) but just I guess it's more comparing him to when he was in his prime to now as an older man when you've not seen him in between.

Rummikub · 24/11/2021 21:26

64 isn’t elderly no.
I just thought he appeared a bit shaky maybe

Looking forward to my Stacey fix tomorrow

ElephantOfRisk · 24/11/2021 21:31

Yes, just not quite sturdy. DH is 60 but lifts weights so is not far off the same age but a very different build. Tommy had breast cancer so google tells me :(

Yes, me - cleared some stuff from the loft and downstairs at the weekend. It took me ages , and a small amount ended up being kept just because I didn't know what to do with it . I really think that on TV they must take longer than the 7 days, it took me a day to do very little!

LeonoraFlorence · 25/11/2021 00:21

What day is Stacey on? I’m always decluttering and/or thinking of decluttering but with young DDs it’s very difficult!

Rummikub · 25/11/2021 01:15

Thursday at 8

LeonoraFlorence · 25/11/2021 20:05

Thanks! Had one of those days so hopefully this will cheer me up tonight.

Rummikub · 25/11/2021 20:19

Wonder if this family will bin the cards.
I’ve still got a box of new baby cards.

woodhill · 25/11/2021 20:23

I don't understand why they have so much stuff and toys

Why have they bought so many prams for example, why not use the same one again

BatshitCrazyWoman · 25/11/2021 20:37

987 greetings cards??? Wow. Keeping sentimental things you don't look at seems pointless to me!
