Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

They really didn’t seem to understand the connection between not having any money to finish renovating the house and all the stuff they kept buying (& didn’t need). Over 400 items of out of date food, 100 ties, £7k storage costs etc everything was so excessive and it’s just a complete waste of money.

I thought the third room
was a dressing room for all their clothes. They just showed his ties though.

That's what I thought too. At the time, didn't think it was such a bad idea as assumed the girls liked sharing a room!

The third room will end up full of his crap and then it will start eeeking out into other areas of the house again. I suspect the teams behind the show knew this too.

I'm sure the girls had their clothes stored in drawers in their own room and there was clothes storage in the couples room too.

Now I'm not saying that none of the females had any clothes in the spare room, but it was predominantly his. And if they had used that as a 3rd bedroom it would have had enough room for that person's clothes and maybe a bit of hanging space for the other sisters longer hanging things if they just had drawers.

I think many families will have a few things belonging to someone else stored in another person's wardrobe for practical reasons so that is generally not an issue. I might need to watch the end of this episode again, but I'm fairly sure that there was a bit if an awkward look from Stacey or dilly when describing the"dressing room" as shared.

Such lovely fabrics in those saris, hope they do something with those.

I think the mum is really overbearing and annoying going on about her daughter getting married.

I got the feeling that the Dad was gonna lose his shit if they had put the son’s weird swords up on the wall…so in the corner they stayed.

I thought I had a lot of pans, but dear god.

@Sarvanga38 i agree. The other episodes so far have featured people who really needed help - the lovely widow, lack of money, MH issues surrounding getting rid of possessions or just not knowing where to start but understanding that they need help. This week just seemed really off and a total lack of inarticulation as to how it’d become like it was - hence my comment about manufactured clutter.if money was genuinely tight you wouldn’t have 5000 bangles - most of which were unopened? Surely you’d think before I buy another 40 green bangles, I know I’ve got 80 at home exactly the same?

@MichaelAndEagle @Sarvanga38

I think it was that they seemed far more affluent than the normal participants.
That was an expensive whisky collection and the glasses and the saris - there was high expenditure there.

So it lacked the dynamic of the viewer thinking 'these people really need help and this show is their only way out'.

These people appeared like they could have paid for a professional declutterer.

I felt like that about the first episode. The man had a lot of money to spend on stuff he didn't use and they did have a lot of very nice, expensive stuff. I think choosing to be on the show was the best option for him. I think it helped the family move on. Not seen tonight's yet, but your comment jumped out as I thought that initially about the first episode.

Why did they keep going on about it being a multigenerational household? It was parents with their son.
Also I found it sad the daughter said she liked how affectionate her dad was with the dog, given how strict he was when she was a child. Giving more affection to your dog than your child is a bit rubbish.

I don't think money is tight now, clearly it's not but that why she found it hard to get rid of anything once she'd bought something as she remembered what it was like coming here with not even a suitcase so it felt wrong to part with anything.
