Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

I have a friend who makes these as a small business venture. She has made teddies out of all things - old school uniforms for children moving schools, shirts of a deceased relative, uniforms as a retirement gift, baby clothes, curtains...

Peach27 · 18/02/2023 19:49

Does anyone know what happened to the red beaded frame Stacey spent ages on? She said it was for the girls but couldn’t spot it anywhere in the reveal!

Nannewnannew · 18/02/2023 21:28

@Peach27 There was a sign saying ‘Sister Squad’ in the girls bedroom and they had framed it with the red frame.

I'm surprised his similar this is to the Nick knowles programme , which I prefer, but I hate the constant adverts on ch 5.
I like the designer man with NK and how calm he is in comparison to Stacey! Although I do like her a lot too.
Mind you , I watch a lot of these type of things and I guess sorting out and throwing out your things can't really have many differences to make the programmes any different. I often wonder where they find these big warehouses to put it all or how much that costs to hire out.
Aggie and Kim did have more of a go at the people on the programme. They were great at the tough love.
I like seeing the transformations

Nobody talks about the budget either - repainting the kitchen cupboards, all Rob's MDF/plyboard, storage jars and drawer dividers... etc ...

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2023 19:09

Nick knowles always gets around 50 k or so added to the houses with their rearrange / decorating etc
Budgets are rarely mentioned on Stacey's programmes. It must cost a fair bit as they do a lot of building work plus the cost of the warehouse / skips

This. I was inspired to check out a label machine after dilly said 'from around £15' but the one she uses is a lot more expensive. Plus all those storage tubs in the cupboards are not exactly cheap as you need loads of them.

FWIW I use strawberry punnets for storing my sachets in.

WhereAreMyAirpods · 21/02/2023 08:57

The BBC show seems much more focused on reusing what the people have - painting a kitchen rather than putting a new one in, refurbishing chairs, moving wardrobes between rooms. Less of that on the C5 show - I don't really get the "we;ve increased your house's value by X" bit as it's not a home selling show and if you're not intending to move, the value of your house isn't really relevant.

MyCousinsNotVinny · 21/02/2023 13:26

@mogtheexcellent do you by any chance have a link to the label maker she uses if you found it?

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:06

Who’s watching?
6 people in a 3 bed house

woodhill · 22/02/2023 21:07

It's grim

redundantsoon · 22/02/2023 21:11

woodhill · 22/02/2023 21:07

It's grim

Yeah. I agree.

Really sad circumstances though.

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:12

Must’ve been so overwhelming as well as grieving

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:15

They just packed a tic tac box!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/02/2023 21:16

Awww, this poor family today, such a situation for them Sad

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/02/2023 21:17

How anyone was functioning in basic terms is mystifying though

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:20

I know :(

Did the mum die during the pandemic?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/02/2023 21:22

Sounded that way, yeah, I think, if I recall that the South Asian community was disproportionately affected

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:25

Yes I remember watching the initial news of Covid deaths and they were all black or south Asian. And thinking is there a link- there must be.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/02/2023 21:26

So we've identified the problem!

catfunk · 22/02/2023 21:27

Why on earth did 3 more people move into that (already crowded) house ?
The teenage girl would already have been sharing with her brother which isn't ideal.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/02/2023 21:31

She said it was to keep the younger 2 in their schools so presumably they were relatively close but too far for the school commute

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:46

I need an eat next’ box

SydneyCarton · 22/02/2023 21:49

My whole fridge is an eat next box 🤣

It still looks quite crowded 😬

Rummikub · 22/02/2023 21:57

😂I might have the same problem
