Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

😂😂oh good glad I’m not the only one!

It took me about half hour to stop feeling so emotional.

Oh and I totally hear you on the clothes. The disposable attitude to fashion is really poor and is encouraged by chains like Primark, Shein and ASOS selling things so cheaply designed to be worn once.

At least Primark attempt to use sustainable fabrics (though I have seen some terrible Crimplene type items there last summer), I bought some pure cotton sundresses last year for £18 each.

Shein and ASOS items might be better off used as firelighters.

I think this has been my favourite episode so far. Poor Sue, it sounded like she'd put her life on hold for 20 years trying to look after her mum, no wonder she didn't have the emotional energy to sort through the mounds of stuff dumped in her house. Really shocking that her mum basically forced her to break up with her partner as well, I think Stacey handled that really well.

Agree that Daniel ODonnell said the most perfect things, what a lovely man he seemed. I hope she manages to keep things organised - I feel like she would, it seemed like she just felt relief at having permission to get rid of stuff she thought she had to hang on to.

MsMcGonagall · 09/02/2023 18:56

I love this programme, can't wait for next week. One thing though- they absolutely do not do this in 7 days! And increasingly so I think. In series 1 maybe it was possible to just about believe for a couple of episodes, but then they did a massive challenge of a house and it was clear (Stacey's pregnancy progress/ weather) that months had passed.

Sue's house was so full it is absolutely not possible that it was 7 days. Plus Rob seems to get more ambitious every week. And all the redecoration... So comments about "only 20 minutes left" and then we see people gently reorganising photos and Stacey doing about 3 or 4 craft projects...

On the other hand, presumably the family are away somewhere with only small suitcases, so they can't take forever!

swedex · 09/02/2023 19:16

I would be just like sues daughters right this is going and just carting whole tables across to the donate pile! They were very ruthless

Great episode though!

PermanentTemporary · 09/02/2023 19:24

I think it's possible that the actual project takes 7 days - you just throw huge numbers of people at it.

Filming the team doing things could be inserted at other times.

Agree that there will be a whole army of people you don't see on the telly. All the packers filling the boxes and taking them back to the warehouse, unpacking and organising in pretty colour coordinated rows. Rob is amazing - but I said to DH the other night that I wondered how many other chippies there were hiding round the back. And painters and decorators. Project managers and stagers and arrangers and labellers...

WellTidy · 09/02/2023 19:47

Given that it recently took me about 15-20 hours to empty, clean, sort through, and restock my pantry (and that didn’t involve any redecorating or new furniture/furnishings), I cannot believe that this takes seven days from start to finish unless there is a massive team of people helping.

SBAM · 09/02/2023 19:58

I’m so glad Sue was helped, it seemed to me like she was paralysed by her grief then just didn’t know how to move on.

did I miss something or do they not list what they did on some days? They definitely repainted some rooms but never addressed when or who did it.

Rummikub · 09/02/2023 20:03

Nicks tonight on plus 1

I'm watching. What an unusual family living together like that. Sounds like the grandparents have a lot to answer for again here!

Rummikub · 09/02/2023 20:23

The poor grandmother knocked over by a lorry.

Yes I wondered if they'd spread it out a bit more than they usually do, there seemed to be less of the last day panic they usually have.

Anyone else fall even more in love with Rob watching him interact with the kids? He might be my perfect man

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 09/02/2023 22:40

On Nicks tonight I thought it was odd we saw no upstairs! Was it so bad they could only do half a house?

Spring2023 · 09/02/2023 22:56

I found Nicks this week surprisingly lack lustre
Like the family weren't really that bothered

Do you think someone else applied for them ? None of them seemed to have much drive for it at all really

They did show the upstairs. But not the daughter and boyfriend's room. We saw the son's room with loft bed and the parents room.

LeonoraFlorence · 10/02/2023 06:20

I really liked Sue. Was nice to see Stacey on her side a bit as well. She seemed quite ground down by it all.

CuriousMama · 10/02/2023 08:36

Stacey taking the shoes 😂

HufflepuffRavenclaw · 10/02/2023 08:39

Stacey is super-positive about second hand and charity shopping and I love her for it. We need more people like Stacey.

RandomMess · 10/02/2023 08:47

DH genuinely asked if the man was the sons or daughters partner because he was always with the son, sat next to him, working with him. Did make me wonder if they didn't want to go public with the other bedrooms!

SaltedChoco · 10/02/2023 11:02

I loved this episode, it really warmed my heart. Sue seems so genuine and her life will change forever now she can have her grandkids over etc. She was so ready for this change.

We also doubt if it's done in 7 days. If it is, they must have an army of people working behind the scenes.

That's possible! The daughter was like never with the guy 🧐

Ours too - best episode yet and the show is taking on more complex situations

pastypirate · 11/02/2023 12:45

Also Rob is the most gorgeous human isnt he! His braids are even fancier this season he looks fabulous!

Rummikub · 11/02/2023 12:49

Sues episode was on bbc2 this morning.

Another thing I liked Stacey for was ‘No, one day is today!’ And offering to take the dead plant home to try to revive it.

I was stressed at how little stuff she had left in the warehouse!!
