Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

I think mum owned the shop with one of the daughters.

I can’t believe how much she’s got rid of, I thought this was going to be a real struggle.

Rummikub · 07/02/2023 21:31

I know! She’s done amazingly!

FriendofDorothy · 07/02/2023 21:33

I love Stacey Solomon.

She seems so kind and authentic with people.

Rummikub · 07/02/2023 21:35

Bloody hell
she could go reclaim some stuff!

SydneyCarton · 07/02/2023 21:36

80% gone! Mind you, she had TONS of stuff to start with. I like the upcycled cabinet

HufflepuffRavenclaw · 07/02/2023 21:37

Stacey is fabulous. That woman had so much stuff though... the bath full

I liked that too

And the hinge lights!

SydneyCarton · 07/02/2023 21:49

I like the colours they’ve used, the greens and blues and purples. Not wild about the stone effect vases though…

Rummikub · 07/02/2023 21:53

Watching Stacey be so excited about Sue’s reaction is just adorable.

Rummikub · 07/02/2023 21:55

It usually is on Wednesdays - first Love it or List it on channel 4, then switch over to bbc1 for this. Football is on tomorrow night instead.

Rummikub · 07/02/2023 22:19

Ohhhh maybe!

Are they trying to trick us!

I only happened on it as I was scrolling through TV guide.

I agree! It’s why the Nick Knowles C5 show isn’t a patch on SYLO.

They won't tell you where stuff is from as it's the BBC and they can't advertise.

@HufflepuffRavenclaw I think you have misunderstood the rules on this issue.

It is correct that the BBC don't advertise (paid promotion) but they are not prohibited from identifying editorially independently selected products that are relevant to a programme, compared or used in programmes - provided it is balanced, not covert advertising and editorially relevant. For example, Saturday Kitchen every week has wines selected from a variety of stores and they tell the viewer the name of the wine, the price and the store it was bought from. They could do this with Sort Your Life Out if they wanted to.

@SydneyCarton thanks for the suggestion - good idea but I'm not on Instagram. If anyone can see if anyone has asked about those round magnetic stair lights I'll be v grateful!

I am on Twitter so I will have a look there.

CuriousMama · 08/02/2023 12:23

Really enjoying this series. Yes Stacey is lovely. Great she had her dad helping.
Poor Sue definitely needs some help after being a carer for her mum so long. Sounds like mum wasn't nice near the end. I know the feeling.
Daniel o Donnell was great so warm and seemed very genuine.
I hope she sold a lot of stuff. I'd have liked to have known how much she made if so? There was so much new! I'd have had a car boot. Although she'd probably have to get someone to do it for her as she'd take it all home. And mooch around tables buying more.

Rummikub · 08/02/2023 12:31

I was wondering about the sell
pile too Who does that and how?

Daniel O Donnell said all the right things to Sue. I wonder if any of it was suggested re looking after her mum as it was exactly what sue needed to hear.

Great episode this week.

PermanentTemporary · 08/02/2023 12:41

That was a great episode. I was worried Sue has a whole ton of emotional stuff going on which was expressed through hoarding, and she would just build it up again.

But then about a year ago my house was full of my mum's stuff and I found it SO hard to sort out, it all sat around for ages and there's still a fair bit in my attic, shed and some packed cupboards. Some friends helped me sort a whole lot of it in my own living space and it helped so much - they took the responsibility of chucking some of my mum's stuff. I haven't refilled it. So I think a lot of it was unresolved grief and distress about her mum - it sounded like she'd been her carer. I hope she feels more free and at peace now.

The daughters were brilliant. Sue seemed genuinely happy at the end, it really had made a difference and improved her life.

Where did she wash with her bath full of stuff though? 🤔

I’ve seen the Tattle thread about Stacey but I actually think she comes across really well. I don’t understand her fashion choices but love her confidence!

Me too!

EasilyDirected · 08/02/2023 23:20

That was another fabulous episode. The team are so warm and generous and all the hugging and affection seems totally genuine. I was filling up at Daniel O'Donnell too and that's not something I ever thought I'd be saying.
