I didn't like it.
Miranda was just awful, I can't believe Cynthia Nixon agreed to say the words. The character is supposed to be a lawyer in NYC, yet can't talk to a African American woman with braids. I thought the scene was going to be about the challenge of being an older woman in a class of kids, but no.
And Steve, he's apparently incapable of anything now he's deaf, what a great potential storyline about disability and the challenge of becoming disabled later in life. But apparently not. He needs to be dim so Miranda can have a relationship with Carrie's podcast boss.
The podcast. Oh god the podcast. This is supposed to be a woman 'who knows great sex and isn't afraid to ask' and she's been friends with Samantha for years yet can't talk about masturbation.
I had to fast forward the Big masturbation scene to be honest. How can you be with someone for 20+ years and not know if they masturbate.
I hated Stanford and Anthony as a couple the first time, still do. It was always like 'oh just put the two gay character's together, that'll do' and was Stanford always so horrible, pushing away Big's secretary like that. I didn't get the point of that at all.
And you wouldn't be friends with Charlotte after making your husband's death completely about her in that way. I'd have to stop seeing her.
Without Big and Samantha I just can't see how it can work, they were the heart of it.
Obviously I'll probably still watch.
