Like many of these series, they were of their time.
Seeing a woman in her 30s dancing and hopping round New York, obsessed with designer shoes and relashionships is so ... so ... 2000!
It looks a bit self-indulgent now. Do people have that kind of expendable income now? But in some ways it was a more innocent time. Are we all a bit more jaded now. Or is it just me?
Also some of the sex stuff that poor Samantha actress was made to do and say pretty ick). Carrie had some kind of cheap housing in NY - I bet less easy to find now, just like London, etc.
Mr Big was literally GORGEOUS to my mind. Completely unattainable type of man!
And though I liked all the female characters, sometimes Carrie annoyed me - she was SO obsessed with her relationships, and was always on the edge of her seat with stratospheric girlish excitement and smiles whenever she was around one! When she got back to her 'cheap' studio the serious face and the fags came out lol!
I enjoyed it at the time mostly, some of it was genuine fun, about friendships and general life. Samantha getting cancer and coping with that with her maneater quest and also when she sort of 'fell in love' was good too, and well acted. And its a shame she won't be returning.
Finally, (with the exception of Miranda perhaps), weren't they all really OBSESSED WITH MEN THO' ? Was I? probably
