Anyone watching? I love this series and fancy Perez Grin He seems to have some extra timber on him.. I don’t like him in a suit, much prefer a fishermans knitted jumper on him..

Where were we left when the last series ended? Did he get together with someone? Someone who seemed to have shady motives? I can’t remember!

I've read all the books but somehow managed to miss series 1-5!
The sun says they are on amazon.

Just watched episode 1 of series 6 and really enjoyed it.
I thought Sandy was a bit older than I expected but maybe he's a lot younger in the earlier series!

muldersspeedos · 27/10/2021 22:03

Ooooh I loved the episode tonight. It was much more engaging than last week for me.

Definitely
FluffyBooBoo · 28/10/2021 08:16

I'm already confused with the sheer number of characters, mainly because they just chat about them and we don't necessarily see them again.

Not impressed tbh.

Violetparis · 28/10/2021 08:19

I am disappointed in this series, too confusing, usually love it.

Kinraddie · 28/10/2021 08:31

Have just worked out that the terminally ill woman Donna Killick and the woman who is angry she's back ( Kate Kilmuir) is all to do with the season 4 storyline. That is confusing!

grafittiartist · 28/10/2021 08:34

Ha-I said this last night- I am confused with so many names!!
Lots to keep track of. I need a subtitles type feature with who's who.
Still loving it though!!

LadyEloise1 · 28/10/2021 09:06

I'm glad it's not just me re confusing characters and the back story of the terminally ill woman- what was it please anyone?
Is the nurse going to be Perez's new love interest ?
She has an Irish accent.

Maireas · 28/10/2021 09:32

I'm really enjoying this. I like the complexity and the interweaving storylines.
An innocent man was imprisoned for the murder of Kate Kilmuir's sister, the real murderer being Donna Killick.
Yes, I'm wonder if the nurse will be a love interest for Jimmy.
What about the screaming nun? Any theories? Why was Galbraith visiting her?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 28/10/2021 09:42

I need to go back and watch series 4 again. Was that the one about people trafficking or was that series 5?

I'd forgotten that Cassie's other dad was a bit 'dodgy' in the past.

Maireas · 28/10/2021 09:48

Yes, Duncan was in the frame for the killing at one point. That was series 4 - series 5 was about the trafficking with Zezi etc

SoupDragon · 28/10/2021 09:52

I've found some of it confusing as I've not watched all of the previous series. I've not idea who the terminally ill murderer is. I'm hoping this doesn't matter!

Maireas · 28/10/2021 09:56

I don't think it does, @SoupDragon - it's just another motive for the murder of Galbraith.
So you have Kate Kilmuir (angry sister), the drug addict who lost custody of her children, the Iraqi war veteran who feels betrayed and possibly something to do with his wife's political campaign.

SoupDragon · 28/10/2021 09:59

Thanks :)

Annoyingly, previous series aren't on iPlayer. I've only seen the previous one I think.

Maireas · 28/10/2021 10:01

They're stand alone, really. The viewer only needs to know that Donna Killick is on early release for murder, and Galbraith faced anger because of his role in that.

muldersspeedos · 28/10/2021 10:04

@SoupDragon BritBox has them.

SoupDragon · 28/10/2021 10:12

You have to pay for Britbox though don't you? I've already paid for them once through my TV licence.

MissyB1 · 28/10/2021 10:20

I’ve been waiting for this series for ages! You do have to concentrate quite hard though, as even though I’ve watched the last couple of series I seem to have forgotten a lot!

I’m tempted to read the books.

Maireas · 28/10/2021 10:22

I enjoyed the books! Perez is very different.

Leftbutcameback · 28/10/2021 10:23

The books are brilliant, and I feel you get a lot more of the culture and a better sense of place of Shetland. So worth reading even if you’ve seen all the series!

mrsfeatherbottom · 28/10/2021 10:28

Was anyone else shouting at Sandy last night for not calling in to say where he was and who he was following???

Maireas · 28/10/2021 10:32

I know! Why didn't he? Also he wasn't very observant, not noticing a person in the car

Maireas · 28/10/2021 10:32

The screaming nun is perplexing me, though.

EdgeOfTheSky · 28/10/2021 10:40

Never seen it before and just started watching series 6.

I do wonder, when I see all those threads about people wanting to move to villages and rural or coastal places, whether they have watched Doc Martin and Shetland. It barely seems possible to leave the house without having a terrible accident, affliction or encounter with terrible crime.

Maireas · 28/10/2021 10:54

GrinGrin sometimes it would seem safer to live in Mogadishu.
