Who is your favourite characters in Succession. I thought this was one of the best shows I have seen in ages, can't wait for new season which will be out soon. Lots of great characters in it. Greg, Tom, Roman. Love to hear your take on it..

@Claudethecat

That is brilliant! 2019 does feel like a very long time ago.

Have just finished watching the first of series 3. Loved it.

Me too! It didn't disappoint...at all!

This is from 2019 (feels like a decade ago!) so you may have seen it but it’s a great version of the theme.

I have seen it - I posted it a few weeks ago on this very thread Wink

Love this show. Don't have sky or now tv and considered joining the latter (£9.99/mo) just to watch season 3 but.... that's like £2.50 a show as I won't be able to binge it. Do we think it'll get onto Amazon prime eventually? Argh I really want to watch!!

OrtolanVeil · 18/10/2021 22:50

When you go to the sign up page, do you see a link saying 'special offers for you' or similar? I thought the same but clicked the link and it was £4.99 per month for 3 months. Much more palatable plus there's other stuff I want to catch up on!

I would say I forgive you but in the spirit of Succession.... FUCK OFF!!

(just kidding, I'm lovely really) Grin

QueenBee52 · 19/10/2021 02:23

wee Greg's going to end up running the Castle 🤣

Stopyourhavering64 · 19/10/2021 02:37

My dd interviewed Brian Cox for student TV ( when he was Rector for Dundee Uni in 2016 and she was manager of Student TV ) said he was the loveliest person and very charming and very interested in her studies ...he mentioned at the time he was leaving Scotland to film some new TV drama Wink
Absolutely love the series and the Machiavellian characters

Ah that’s lovely Stop!

TiddleTaddleTat · 19/10/2021 10:01

@OrtolanVeil yes I see that but the offer actually expired end of sept so it automatically reverts to full price when I add to basket Envy

Normandy144 · 19/10/2021 10:14

Loved the first episode back. So many brilliant Greg moments - the media monitoring, opening the dusty wine! Roman is being particularly creepy around Geri, I hope she keeps him at arms length - he must feel like a son to her, it would surely be too weird. I think she's too professional surely?

DrHildegardeLanstrom · 19/10/2021 20:30

I only have s3 episode 1 on my NowTv - anyone else?

I'm sure it's only on weekly... disappointing, I don't want to wait!
CherryBlossomWinter · 19/10/2021 22:17

Oh I love succession!

And like many I don’t know anyone in RL who has watched it. I keep asking them to but they won’t.

I admit I watched 3 episodes and really wasn’t that into it at first. I’m so glad I kept going, the last episode was so satisfying in it’s devilish twists and Machiavellian goings on…

Brilliant!

TiddleTaddleTat · 19/10/2021 22:22

@DrHildegardeLanstrom yeah I heard too it was being released weekly. I'm going to have to wait until all eps have been aired then buy a now tv subscription and binge it!

DrHildegardeLanstrom · 19/10/2021 22:46

That scene, around the table in the yacht, in the last of season 2 where they are deciding who to sacrifice - perfect!

NurseButtercup · 20/10/2021 10:08

I've just watched the first episode and just like that I'm drawn right back in.

So many moments but my first stray thoughts....

When they all get out of the helicopters they look like really important decisive people. The question is asked "where are we going?"...it could be either New York, or Geneva or London or Singapore or LA.

I hope someone makes a meme of
"I got fired, he got fired, she got promoted, I got rehired, she got demoted ....

pmsl...

These people are NUTS and I'm here for it, I'll be tuning in every week.

I don't mind the weekly episodes gives me something to look forward to.

oldwhyno · 20/10/2021 11:06

Yes! So good.

And I know Secession is a brilliant clever episode name, but we couldn't help calling it Sex Session and that was enough spark a hot retreat to the boudoir after! (TMI, sorry!)

MargotMoon · 20/10/2021 11:26

@midsomermurderess

Adam Buxton interviewed Georgia Pritchett, one of the writers and exec producers, on his podcast recently. That was an interesting listen. The first series anyway was written by a bunch of British based out of Brixton. But there was/is a British feel to some of the humour.

Came on here to say this - great interview! Here's the link if you want to listen: play.acast.com/s/18dcd5db-f898-42c6-ab31-3a1853c1a645/674401a0-01f0-4692-8ecd-bdfa533200d4

The other podcast mentioned above is good for the interviews with the actors but the interviewer himself makes me cringe, he is so fawning. Quite Succession-y, really (see episodes 1-10, looks like they have a new host for the Series 3 podcast): www.hbo.com/succession/hbos-succession-podcast

I don't know if it's already been mentioned on this thread but the show is created by Jesse Armstrong who was the co-creator of Peep Show & Fresh Meat.

thisplaceisapigsty · 20/10/2021 12:08

That first episode was just brilliant and I loved Greg shouting 'no comment' about twenty times at the press when the idea was they would be keeping a dignified silence. Kendall has gone next level up in terms of intensity as well, quite mad but genius in his way. Need to watch it a second time!

goinggently · 20/10/2021 12:58

Succession is amazing!

Agree that scene around the table on the yacht about who to throw under the bus was genius!!

OneMorePieceofCheese · 20/10/2021 14:55

What I find hard to understand is why any of them want it! I mean, regardless of whether or not they work, they're going to lead billionaire lifestyles. Why put yourself through the stress?

Thanks for sharing this information, it all makes sense to me know. Some of the dialogue feels very British, dark, dry sense of humour & one liners.

I had to rewatch the bit when Kendal throws his lawyer out of the car, and says "I can't have any weevils in my flour cycle"... lmao

To prove themselves to daddy. His approval is everything they are vying for. The money is meaningless at that level.
