Anyone watch Succession

Who is your favourite characters in Succession. I thought this was one of the best shows I have seen in ages, can't wait for new season which will be out soon. Lots of great characters in it. Greg, Tom, Roman. Love to hear your take on it..

Those scenes were so telling.

Firstly they echoed Logan and Kendall’s arrival at Josh’s island, where again Logan had to take an uncomfortably long walk to the more powerful man’s chosen spot in his empire.

And then, never mind the smaller chair, after journeying around the villa for the sea view, Roman was placed with his back to it. Really it was all over bar the shouting at that moment.

Agh I really love this show. I'm going back to re-watch s3 as I felt it passed too quickly and I missed stuff! (Had already rewatched 1&2 beforehand)

Don’t forget episode 2 when Logan has his funny turn and Tom takes him to the loo. Logan calls him “my son” and we all thought it was because he was confused. Now we know that Tom is the son Logan never had.

What a colossal ending. I feel like I need a rewatch to pick up signs I missed. Shiv had it coming in the way she treats Tom. I feel like their marriage is one of the only weak spots - I can see why he wanted to marry her, but I really don’t get why she ever married him. Obviously she needs to be in control, but she has no respect for him, doesn’t even seem to like him. I just don’t know why she would have bothered to marry him. Anyhoo, it’s bitten her in the arse now!

I hear what you're saying about their marriage but I think what Shiv gets (or thought she got until last night) is the unconditional devotion that she never got from either of her parents.

Yes, I can see how having someone who is always there for you would be appealing. And she was repeating Logan’s behaviour of repeated kicking to see if they would come back…

Shiv gets a puppy dog to kick. Or so she thought. I am really glad to see her get her comeuppance. I was all on Shiv's side in S 1 but in this season she was proven as awful as any of them, and sometimes worse.

I had assumed Logan was one step ahead rather than Tom telling him

Very interesting article. I don’t agree that Gerri “betrays” Roman though; what is she supposed to do? She can’t change anything or help him at that point

Anything. Ok they have an inappropriate flirt and she has a soft spot for him of all the siblings but really, he's not her responsibility at all

Agreed re Gerri and Roman, but reality and how people feel are two different things sometimes.

And actually, they have fed each other info previously so it wouldn't be a massive stretch for her to have done the same this time, but obviously a step too far for her and very wise not to.

As much as I love the frisson between them I'm glad she protected herself.

I think she genuinely cares for him. There’s even a chance she might be “into” him. But yes she’s a smart woman she isn’t going to fuck herself over for no reason. I absolutely LOVE how she wasn’t going to fuck him over either last episode when Shiv wanted her to.

Geri wanted him to grow up but did like him enough to try and help him do that

I looked for a thread at the beginning of the series and couldn't find one..! I'm so sad I missed all your interesting thoughts and observations at the time. I can't remember the last time I was so genuinely interested - captivated, in fact - by a series.

They're all amazing. All of them. But I think Kieron Culkin has made me really understand what acting can be - I've honestly never seen anything like it, it's like it's happening in front of your eyes. The way he blanched and did 'thinking very quickly' and shrunk into his own butt when he realised where the 'items' had gone was extraordinary, wasn't it? Just a joy.
But god, they're all so good.

This is such a fabulous observation.

I was thinking, earlier today, that watching Roman think is an utter joy. Not just at moments of mortification, but for instance in the bathroom with the fascist - how quickly he weighed up the situation and decided not to be squeamish. It amazing that, apart from Brian Cox and Harriet Walter I was almost completely unaware of any of the Roy family actors until Succession.

I read that they start filming season 4 in June. I really hope it’s sooner!
And Emmy wise, ‘Logan’ and ‘Kendall’ are up against each other in the best actor category whereas KC is by himself for best supporting actor. Really deserving if he wins. Shiv is up for supporting actress.
And someone on Twitter said, the clues were already out there in one of the the HBO posters…

Dur, why did I think it was the Emmy’s and not the (correct) Golden Globes? Anyway, I’ll still be grumpy if Kieran Culkin doesn’t win….

They all blend into each other @Justfivemoreminutesplease I agree though. BC and JS are consistently good but KC has been a standout this season. He should win that category.
