Fucking hell is anyone watching? Those poor women/girls.

OP posts:
HuckleberryJam · 06/10/2021 08:39

This wasn't my favourite episode, although that was partly because it was depressing. I liked the surgeon and corrupt policeman ones

Groovee · 06/10/2021 14:18

I thought someone had got to the jury over the verdicts. Rather suspicious.

My favourite bit was when the guy shouted at the custody sergeant that he was another being paid by the chicken shop in the way of free chicken.

Though the footage of the fighting was scary especially when the hot oil was flung.

Killergigglebunnies · 06/10/2021 15:31

Yes, yes with the jury. There was some backhanders going on there. Very suspicious 🧐

misscockerspaniel · 07/10/2021 10:34

The jury's verdict might be wrong but I don't think it is suspicious. The programme showed how paying for a good lawyer can achieve a not-guilty verdict. It was a strange episode.

longwayoff · 07/10/2021 23:08

Very suspect result. In cases like these, gangs with extensive tentacles into local community, the trial should be held in a different part of the country with a jury chosen from the locals there.

purpleme12 · 09/10/2021 00:00

I'm just watching it now
6 minutes in it says all 6 men involved are charged and shows their pictures but one of the men is blurred out
Why is one blurred out?!

purpleme12 · 09/10/2021 00:10

Why are they pleading not guilty if there's footage of them?
I feel had for that woman ringing about the fighting, having to live near that

Mombie · 09/10/2021 00:24

I felt this latest episode was suspiciously one sided. They only showed the cctv inside the shop and didn’t show all the interviews. I mean someone tried to shoot a key-witness with a sawn off shot gun, why wasn’t this taken further?! And who keeps that much Class A drugs in plastic bag in the shed. It could easily have been planted. The police didn’t seem very intent on investigating but alluded to the ‘chicken shop’ trade a number of times. Then the police officer saying that their intent was to stop the violence and so they had achieved their goal. It seems like brushing the bigger issue under the carpet. It was all very line of duty.

Still no update in the press about the sentencing for Sandal Hornea (the guy who attached the three women at the house) despite it being reported he was sentenced yesterday. Very strange.

I reckon he done a plea and given up some bigger names why would he plead guilty otherwise? Still think this case is very suspicious

I think he was under 18, so legally cannot name or show his picture.
winterescape · 09/10/2021 09:03

I followed a live stream from a random newspaper detailing Hornea’s case on Thursday. His sentence has been deferred. He’s still given no reason beyond drink and drugs and is now apparently a model prisoner. He pleaded guilty and will after his sentence be deported. I’m keeping an eye on it. It was suggested he could get 12-15 years.

Killergigglebunnies · 09/10/2021 09:11

@winterescape he’s good actor then.
I liked the fact the mayor in his home town in Romania knew who he was. Small town, my family’s hometown is similar.

Agreed. He’s disgusting and I hope he gets a long, long sentence.

Rizzoli123 · 09/10/2021 16:15

It was horrible. I couldn't belive how callous he had been.

One of the men involved was 15 years old so I assume it was his picture that was blurred.
Maves · 10/10/2021 11:10

Shocking verdicts I do think someone got to the jury if I'm hones.

sweatervest · 10/10/2021 12:12

the chicken shop thing was shocking. what is their google search? "massive machete with fancy black handle"?

sandal hornea thing REALLY odd. and why has his sentencing thingy
been delayed i wonder.

i suppose those sorts of crimes happen everywhere. it's hideous though. but i bloody love the programme.
although why was the woman who was questioning sandal wearing flip flops??? or was she questioning the chicken shop baddies. can't remember. but flip flops are a weird choice. unless she'd had her bunions done. hmmmmm.

Longdistance · 10/10/2021 12:37

@Maves I bet the jury were followed to their homes by their associates, and well, you can guess the rest…

TheQueef · 10/10/2021 12:40

Did the sawn off shotgun guy face charges? (chicken shop episode)

Hels20 · 10/10/2021 13:09

Yes @TheQueef - but they were ultimately withdrawn. Not sure why. Makes the whole thing so suspect…

TheQueef · 10/10/2021 14:23

Ta Hels
I can't work out how a man carrying a loaded shotgun who was caught red handed by a police officer which was also witnessed and memorialised on tape by a member of the public has walked away!?!
What more evidence is needed?

Killergigglebunnies · 10/10/2021 14:43

I’d be going back to the jury.

purpleme12 · 10/10/2021 15:13

Yes that's what confused me too

Hels20 · 10/10/2021 16:56

I agree @TheQueef - totally weird how it wasn’t a slam dunk.

The whole episode was odd…too few convictions…
