I know it's fake but characters like Jean get a pay on the back for framing Ruby yet Ruby doing the same to Stacey she's seen as a villain.

I think Ruby deserves this bit of fear though. In the real world there is no way the charges would stick. She caused Stacey to be locked in prison for a year (? Ish - I can't remember her sentence) and then lied when she told Jean she'd tried to fix it. Yes she's had some shitty experiences but I don't think she is a good person. I think that description probably covers Stacey too. By contrast, Jean is basically good.

They can't go away from the square to do anything such as draw out money or the ' big shop ' or anything normal like that! It's the law , you must stay on the square at all times most of the time. Unless it's the spooky woods and your being murdered or the allotment to hide.

They don’t really know what to do with Martin now his buddy kush has gone. Tbh it never really suited Martin being the nightclub bouncer or whatever job Ruby gave him. He’s a fruit and veg man, that’s what he should be doing.

They’ve left Jean with no one too. Kat moved out and took her kids, Stacey gone, kids with Martin, Mo gone. Jean just rattling around the tardis house on her own. And how on earth is she paying the rent by herself when they struggled to pay it with four adults working and living there??

Presumably now Ruby feels all alone (and because she's on mat leave) she'll confess/be found out on the Stacey stairs thing (perverting course of justice, wasting police time?) the Martin club assault thing (conspiracy to defraud maybe - I think there might have been some insurance claim?) and if police look closely at the club they might find out about Vinny's drug dealing and Tiff and Dotty's card skimming so there would probably be enough to send her down for around 9 months maybe? Martin is still her husband so could still run the club if it's not shut daaaaaan.

And of course Stacey will be released almost instantly and obviously get a job at Dee's mysteriously lucrative hair salon

Oh and of course Ruby will keep the pregnancy secret now - so that she can return dramatically at some point with a huge bump/newborn baby most likely halfway through Martin and Stacey's latest wedding vows after another impossibly fast divorce! (Not a spoiler )

You still need money for other things though.
Although council tax water rates even food bills are never mentioned..

I liked sassy , nice outfits , business woman Ruby , but they had to change all that! She was flawed , but not that bad.
They always do when it's a woman running the show though , change the character.

The writers do not seem to be able to write a plot that makes any sense.
Since they came back from the lockdowns it's been a lot worse with complex storylines and no sense of any reality at all.
I still watch it as it's entertaining ( and for this thread ) but I do also zone out some times and things like the big fire were not that gripping really. It felt a bit formulaic.
They had an opportunity to show someone getting banged up for DV and killing Chantelle but that went pear shaped too.
Have to hope things improve a bit.

All the Grey and Chantelle story line has shown is You can domestically abuse your wife (or partner I should say) and even kill them and everyone believe and fall for your cock and bull story about it being an accident. She landed on her back. How on earth do you trip over a toy and land on your back. I've never heard or anyone tripping over backwards.

Actually yesterday we couldn't see Fridays episode so watched the Christmas Day one . It was weird that Sharon & Ian were in the Vic , he had survived a thousand attempts on his life .
Shirley , Mick and Tina were at Greys for dinner (he looked mightily pissed off) and there was a reference to the knives in the dishwasher being the wrong way up.
Kat was still with Kush .
Martin accidently giving Stace the (rather ugly) watch and Ruby the cheapo keyring .
How much has changed !
Oh , and it snowed despite there being bright sun at 2pm.

So back to the present day :

Raine is going round with a face like a well skelped arse . Even Fester will pick up on her lack of enthusiasm.

Jean did mention Sean a couple of times but I don't think he'll reappear as if by magic.

Dot and Tiffany looked so so much better without the faces full of make-up
