Anyone watching? Bench Seat Man has gone!

I loved the dining room as I don't like bifold doors that much as you lose all the cosy feeling of a room, thought the bifold window was nice - very open but still firmly indoors.

I'm also anti open plan as I like to get away from people Grin so that also pleased me.

Just a bit Shock at the size of the second one...

BunnyRuddington · 07/06/2021 20:33

Oh and don't get me started on broken plan! Who does that suit exactly? It doesn't suit small children and it wouldn't suit me, I'd break my neck in a week and it would be a nightmare if you were entertaining, though possibly not if you didn't like your guests...

jay55 · 07/06/2021 20:34

The same bench seating. Did they all train together?

colouringcrayons · 07/06/2021 20:38

Sounds like the second one is going to be chosen...

jay55 · 07/06/2021 20:38

Where does all the other crap from the garage go? The tools and gardening stuff?

colouringcrayons · 07/06/2021 20:40

@jay55

Gotta sacrifice something Grin
Halsall · 07/06/2021 20:43

Nobody really mentions where all the other crap goes Hmm

Where does all the other crap from the garage go? The tools and gardening stuff. I swear that they sometimes think it looks better because it's not full of the usual crap that comes with family life.

How much are they spending this week? I missed that but getting more snacks Grin

colouringcrayons · 07/06/2021 20:46

£50k was the starting point

unfortunateevents · 07/06/2021 20:52

Did I miss where the bathroom had gone in the first design? Neither dh or I could remember seeing it?

unfortunateevents · 07/06/2021 20:54

Seriously, half a project, no timber frame and no sunken floor??

SandysMam · 07/06/2021 20:54

Does anyone think the husband this week is super hunky?!! That accent!!

jay55 · 07/06/2021 20:56

Did they do the garage?
jay55 · 07/06/2021 20:56

Oh there it is

Halsall · 07/06/2021 20:58

£70,000.......Hmm

They are so happy with it and I bet it is really nice to live in Smile

I can't remember seeing it until they were knocking it down.

Halsall · 07/06/2021 21:13

I liked the result a lot. But it was quite a significant uplift in budget - and it wasn't finished!

OP posts:
jay55 · 07/06/2021 21:15

I preferred it not having the sunken floor. I loved the windows in both rooms.
But the bench seating looked painful.

They were clearly very happy, especially the husband.

BruceAndNosh · 07/06/2021 21:26

I think their finished design was better than the architects.
And i love that they stole the 1st design bifold windows.

I KNEW the small slot side windows would not make the final reveal as Planning would have turned them down

EastWestWhosBest · 07/06/2021 21:42

They seemed like a lovely couple. I liked it in the end, but why did they lose the bathroom in both designs. We are only two people here and I’m grateful for two toilets. A family of 4 needs more than one bathroom.

No, they had a bathroom. It just wasn't finished, it had those teal tiles
EastWestWhosBest · 07/06/2021 21:56

Oh yes, I remember now. Those tiles were beautiful.

applespearslemons · 07/06/2021 22:03

Wow that cost £70k
And they didn't finish it
And the msn fitted the kitchen himself

And all the soft furnishings were awful

The space looked good though. Wonder joe much garden they had left?

MightNeedABiggerGlass · 07/06/2021 22:45

I was so disappointed they didn't have the split level and walk through chimney breast, they clearly loved the end result.

He was clearly very handy and I loved his sand hating when they lived near a beach.

I am also a non lover of bi-fold doors but bi-fold windows are fab. Loved her idea of a kitchen window cill bar area I may have just been to see if we can retro fit one Grin
