They did manage to make Jack totally despicable.. but I still did 't think 4 women would leave a man in the woods at night, tied up. No way.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/05/2021 11:25

Just to say - after episode 3 I weakened and watched the lot!

I won't offer any spoilers, but will say that, unlike some other people, I enjoyed it and was glad I'd watched it.

I do have some comments but I'll wait until you've all seen it and then join in the chat.

OceanSounds123 · 26/05/2021 19:12

I have really enjoyed watching it on the I player.Up to episode 6 now.
There are a few twists that are unexpected.
@BuggerTheBotox

So Louie has a motive for offing her nephew (assuming she stands to inherit the business).

I thought about this too, but wouldn't she need to have gambled her luck on being able to push Arwel to suicide? Although she knew exactly how to hurt him worst, it seems a vvv dark way to solve being disinherited.

Does this mostly end the questions of the abuse? It really was a sort of line of abuse?

I hate Richard but I'm struggling to explain why...just seems like such a joyless bastard even though addiction is a disease. Suspect that's personal though, stuff about debt/unemployment always really bugs me so maybe hating him is my way to cope Grin
Nancy says to him "I haven't felt like your wife for YEARS." My guess is, he was a joyless bastard long before he became addicted to gambling. And he totally takes her for granted e.g. not realizing she has hurt her hand cooking.

I found myself wondering what she saw in him originally, tbh. I couldn't see anything likeable in him, nothing warm, just an emotional void.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2021 20:00

I said last tue did Louie set her nephew up

He broke her necklace in loo

Maybe she thought If kill him then dad would try wns kill
Self and she inherits all

She works on the lowest level , poorly paid in her families business

"He broke her necklace in loo"

I broke my necklace in the shower today, I am blaming 'The Pact'.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2021 21:29

Oh no @Italiangreyhound

Also they keep showing necklaces being taken off and put in pots by beds

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 26/05/2021 22:47

I think it would be a massive risk murdering one and then hoping you could push the other to suicide and get away with it to inherit the business. Esp as a spur of the moment thing, it wasn't planned

Italiangreyhound · 26/05/2021 23:48

yes, weird re necklaces...

AngryMuppet · 27/05/2021 03:54

That's true but she did know about their father. Honestly idk what I think happened because I expected them to sort out the abuse storyline more explicitly before Arwel died. (To be honest, I dIdn't expect Arwel to die or at least not without regaining consciousness.) So is that why he burned all the stuff? Disclosure makes sense for laptops etc. (although it's not like it would destroy the accounts if they could track them down, which I assume they could) but the pictures? May be massively overthinking this.

So glad it's not just me, @TurquoiseLemur! It's gotten to the point where his miserable face just annoys me, but I feel guilty saying that because he's clearly depressed. But it's also the lack of gratitude when he assumed Nancy had borrowed the money from Anna - he couldn't even be bothered to say thank you or show any gratitude that Nancy had bailed him out.

Also, just as a misc thought, I love Cat. I think she's a really interesting character and charismatic actress. Hopefully she has her own episode coming up.

AngryMuppet · 27/05/2021 03:55

Ballsed up the formatting, sorry guys Blush

Longdistance · 27/05/2021 06:00

I think there’s more to Tamsin. She got drunk at the memorial. Who does that? What’s going on with her? Maybe she’s pg?
Not sure why the necklaces have a relevance? They have focussed on them.
The trousers being pulled back up, I think when Nancy went for her long pee, she pulled them back up as she had a horrified look on her face when her friends pulled them down. But, did she go back and strangle him? Nancy I’d also godmother to Tamsin, did Tamsin confide in Nancy about her behaviour?
Too many questions and we’ve got to wait til Monday/Tuesday.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/05/2021 07:45

The families so know each other, it's possible there was something between Jack and Tamsin, the son is kind of a side character for happy family and IT questions but the extra focus on Tamson does seem to suggest something. And Dad did say the kids used to go in the woods when they were younger, she could have been hanging out there with mates, sees it, approaches, he's lucid enough to threaten her with reporting Mom and .....

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2021 14:05

Wonder if tasmin was Seeing him

Agree wouldn’t get that drunk at a funeral Even work free booze

Must be a reason

They all had reason to hate him but yes, how often in real life do you hear of a group of women assaulting a man like this? Hardly ever.

I find it especially unbelievable that Cat would be involved: we know she has been in prison, and that she is still on parole, why would she risk her freedom for a prank?

And Louie has all that stolen gear in her house so she's hardly likely to want the attention of the police.

Italiangreyhound · 28/05/2021 11:00

Louie was his aunt, I could not imagine her wanting to be involved in an offensive photo, let alone abandoning him tied up in the woods!

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2021 16:54

Do we def think one of the 4

Or someone found them /followed and killed him

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 28/05/2021 17:23

I don't think Louie would kill him, she's his aunt and seemed genuinely upset. Cat might smack him one if he tried anything but I don't see why she'd kill him. Nancy had opportunity but I just don't see it, sober and highly religious which leaves policeman's wife. That would be the ultimate twist I guess but I rely do think she'd have cracked by now and I don't see how she'd have had chance.

So blonde - nah, wouldn't mess up her promotion.

Tash - doubtful , he was unlikely to try it on again after what happened
Tamsin - possible, did something happen between them?
Brother - an outside possibility with massive twist as he's been fairly insignificant this far, just part of the 2.4
Daddy - seems v unlikely

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2021 20:47

I am Wondering if max wife

Then again if she killed she wouldn’t have paid the ransom so happily ....

Buggerthebotox · 29/05/2021 13:44

Just watched the first episode again. Before the opening credits, we see Anna (the Scottish one) running about in the woods in a distressed state. What was that about?

When Kat adjusted Jack's tie, did she pull up his trousers as well?

I've got hung up on Nance's car. The vehicle they used to take Jack to the woods is definitely a KIA. I've got it in my head that the vehicle in the screengrab later on and thought to be Nance's was a Nissan. Was it? Confused

IEat · 29/05/2021 14:43

Loved it so much I binged watched it ... never guessed the ending

SleepingStandingUp · 29/05/2021 20:01

Hang on, even she did up the tie.... How tight was it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/05/2021 22:01

Replying while watching so might not make sense or things may be answered by the end

Wonder if he had a will. Think it will go to Louie

Would they have kept Nancy in the station all night ? That's time ticking

Why is tish being so helpful

Is it as she followed them and killed him due to his attacking her and possible sleeping to get the job , which she didn't

Gives herself an alibi as well ,,,,,,,

Still can't believe I didn't recognise Warren /max

Anna is blabbing to hubby 🙀🙀🙀

He isn't impressed !!

Family counselling 😂😂 bit late for that

I do like the welsh accent

Very sexy !!!

Noted cat didn't confess to Louie she has blabbed as well to tish .....

£50 cash every week every Saturday and triple shots

Why has Tamsin done a runner. We said last week why get so drunk at his funeral unless seeing him

She obv is something to do with it .......

Is she preg ?

Omg. I was right. She is

Isn't Anna gonna ask who the dad is

And bet it's his !!!

Omg. Twice in right !!!

And max is gonna see Tamsin meeting him

Three times I'm right !!!

Puffs out chest !!!

But did she kill him or is that too obvious as loved him

And really her brother who killed him after he said he didn't want to know his sister was preg ?

Roll on tomorrow's

OP posts:
commatose · 31/05/2021 22:51

Only up to episode 3 (watching slowly on iplayer) but if Louie had a room full of stolen gear, aka, 'Wales' biggest present drawer', why did she give Anna a jumper with a tag on it? Wouldn't she wrap up something tagless? Obv it's to move the 'Louie is an unhappy kleptomaniac' plot along but even so.

I realise this is quite low-level unrealistic compared with driving your boss to the woods after a staff party and leaving him there to perish amongst the owls.

Buggerthebotox · 01/06/2021 07:41

Odd investigation. They're saying murder but do we know what the cause of death is?

What did Ade tell the cops? Why did they not have solicitors at the start of the interviews?

So Tamsin went to the party to confront Jack with the pregnancy the followed the women to the woods and took her chance? What would be her motive for killing him?

(My brain went into overdrive and I thought perhaps that the brother was the father of the baby and Jack was ring used as a scapegoat, with the CCTV providing convenient evidence of a possible relationship).

Can't wait for tonight Smile
