I started another thread a few weeks ago but I've lost it

Another huge fan of Sophie, I love her talent, style and personality.

I love Dolli as a person but she is hit and miss. I think Jack may become stronger through the weeks but didn't personally like their mushrooms. Irish guy will probably go far.

Like everyone else disappointed with the talent this year.

With the technical challenges like the pop art lip, do you think they get shown the little video the viewer sees? or something similar, to give them an idea –maybe even just the finished thing but no instructions as to how to do it.

I think they might be shown a picture, if they saw a video on how to do it they wouldn't be so rubbish

I agree, I think she is the only one who has enough perception to realise that as a career being a MUA is about making other people look good rather than stroking your own ego and making up for your unhappy childhood.

I had a look on Instagram and saw enough pop art lip pics that I can imagine it was a thing for a bit. I didn't look for clumpy eyelashes, might go and have another browse....

It's funny that, last season the girl who did make up on herself, for social media only, quit the show. And this year that is more than half what they're doing.

I admired her for her talent and low-key, professional approach anyway, but her side eye at Riley's ridiculously hyperbolic squeeing at the guest judge was THE BEST.

Love this show, but I do spend a lot of time eye-rolling at all the breathless excitement and tears and faux-sincerity displayed by some of the contestants. Clearly, I'm getting old...

Sophie has the most amazing eyes.

Oh and another thing, since when have people been making undereye bags/shadows with make up!? I'm finally on trend.

Coco, I know! I guess if you look fresh-faced and shadow-free, it's quite cool to paint on eye bags. Like young women dyeing their hair grey.
In my household we called it the'Old is the new young' trend.
Maya was quite funny saying 'I'm literally using three concealers to AVOID eye bags.'

Christ I'd be cross of I went to have my male up done and they actually accentuated the bags under my eyes.

Just caught up. I absolutely agree with everyone so far Sophia is the best one.

She's so calm compared to the rest. I know they are all for the best part very young, but please stop squealing.

I did like her; she was technically not that skilled/experienced and she needs to learn to manage her time/nerves more, but she was very passionate and had some wonderful ideas. Good luck to her.

I do agree Alex had good ideas, I think she has an artist in her, but maybe makeup isn't her medium.

The two lads had real leaps forward this week both having two good rounds. I thought the robot look was the best of the day.

Dolli has just lost it. Her alien Queen looked like a toddler had been let loose with face paints and glitter. And I just wanted her to grab a tissue and wipe off the red lip in the first round.

I thought Sophie's was really scary looking. I loved hearing her talk about wanting to create monsters for a career and really hope she gets there. It's a shame she's not really had the chance to meet people from that world yet on the show.

Ryley I thought wasn't that bad in the first round, was surprised she was in the chair. Her black and gold look was so eye catching, even if being all one colour it didn't show off makeup skills.

The face off again was rubbish. Did wonder if despite her speech if Samah had just given up, as she usually sticks to the brief in the final round.

Craig was excellent, wasn't he? I was impressed at how well he grasped the ASOS brief. I liked his robot too; I thought it had gone down the Tin Man route but it photographed really well.

Agree Dolli has lost it. I think she has a 'look' and basically one idea. It's beautiful when she gets it right, but she doesn't have enough range. Although, interestingly, she did well on the Crown challenge, and that took a lot of knowledge of make-up in history.

Ryley's black alien with no eyes was AWESOME, and I mean that in the proper sense of the word. Frightening and beautiful, futuristic and mythical at the same time. Absolutely amazing and I totally get why Val got emotional (I love Val more and more each episode!)

I don't know what happened to Samah either. Just a moment of panic and not listening?

I thought we had put the scud on Sophie this week! Glad she was able to pull it back with her alien look.
Craig is constantly good, he's definitely one to watch.
Dolli seems to do the same look for every creative brief, painting the face and putting lines and dots on it.

I’m now properly addicted to this and bingeing the first two seasons. Rather love Craig, always want to give him a hug 😂

I'm now worried that Dolli has lost some of her confidence...

I like Craig it has taken me some time though as I liked the Irish guy guy from season 2 (I think) and felt oh no how formulaic.

I still love Sophie best.

I think Dolli's inexperience shows.

I thought Samah had reached the end of the road. Sad about her story with asthma, I've never come across either someone suddenly getting it nor it stopping sports if well managed.

If next week is prosthetics/effects week, then SURELY it'll be Sophie's turn for the crown.
