Phew.....thank goodness he didn't move on. I can watch next week now safe in the knowledge the story writers might have some poor decisions... ..but not on this one. Lol.

Hate to burst your bubble, but here is what George Rainsford said about seeing more of her

George says: "I’d like to think so. Amy works under Ffion Morgan [the police officer played by Stirling Gallacher] and she’s got her own stuff going on. You learn that there’s a reason why she’s angry and confrontational. She has experienced domestic violence and has a series of slightly crazy exes. There are things to explore…"

interesting that nobody has said it was nice to see Fenisha again. I couldn’t stand her and thought her character in last nights ep was totally different. She was normally stroppy and unpleasant.

Mumdiva99 · 02/05/2022 19:37

I was just confused when the dog thing was supposed to have happened. Because it wasn't before the one night stand.....she wasn't PG in the clip.....she didn't have the baby with her......so not really sure......they only really had about 5 minutes together happy....

A couple of excellent classic Casualty episodes up on UKTV Play right now - the chemical spill in the middle of a residential estate, Tom Kent's introduction, lots of lovely Sam Nichols, Dylan and Zoe, and the actor who went on to play the nurse Rita in a few years' time. Actually fun episodes!

TrashyPanda · 03/05/2022 11:12

Yes, the stunts were great in those eps, plus the preceding ones with the fire in the ED.

plus Dylan is in them, along with Zoe, Nick and Tess. And Dixie and Jeff.
great cast, great stories.

sigh.

those were the days.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2022 12:19

Seen first

would they have put Ollie with David

would the gas /van really be left unattended

Just caught up on the Double Bills from last week and tonight’s episode.

I only watched 5 minutes of the first one as once I realised it was just Iain on yet another escapade regarding the farm I just switched off. I used to really like Iain but I’m starting to find him really irritating.

In regards to the Ethan episode, I actually really liked it. That might have something to do with me thinking he’s very beautiful to look at and I could listen to his voice for eternity. Yummy.

And as for tonight…..what’s going on with Ollie’s dodgy friend?? He’s clearly up to something.

I liked finding out what sex Sah is because I genuinely didn’t know until tonight. At one point I was worried it was going to be case of her and that guy being a couple in the lady and that Sah was violent to him - as in prolonged domestic abuse. I was very relieved to hear his injuries were just caused by a one off attack when they were at school.

I’m not sure what the point of the old lady storyline was…..thought hearing her call Stevie “Mrs leprechaun” was hilarious!

purpleme12 · 07/05/2022 23:19

I liked both the episodes last week
I think because they are our strong watchable characters I can care about

Whereas I'm just not bothered about Say. Or in fact most of the paramedics at the minute.
I used to think Jan was a strong watchable character. Not so much anymore

unvillage · 08/05/2022 01:25

Thank god for a Sah episode at last! Loved finding out a bit more about them and their background with their dad - and the ending with them and the rest of the paramedics was lovely. They've been such an unknown quantity for so long, I really enjoyed seeing more of them. And was impressed with Arin Smethurst, who also uses they/them pronouns, as an actor.

As for Ollie and his dodgy friend - I just really hope it's not building up to a school shooting or similar, it's looking like it won't end well. Poor David is trying his best and Rosa is clearly gone for good at this point, judging by that phonecall in the staff room :(

I'm not sure why you're going out of your way to refer to Sah as "her" when their pronouns have been made abundantly clear - and I'm also not sure why their sex matters? You're not entitled to know.

I felt a bit irritated that the writers felt it necessary to deadname Sah in that way - totally irrelevant to the storylines of both the bullying and their father's illness. I'm sure the ripped up card will come into play later, probably from their mother or another family member who can't accept who they are. It's a shame that Casualty can't write a storyline involving a trans or nonbinary character without their gender identity being questioned constantly. (just look at the posts above about the teenage girl using drugs and her Christian father who accepted her)

purpleme12 · 08/05/2022 01:41

Yes I thought there were hints that there was something off about the friend which was wierd cos I thought he really was going to be an ally to him

purpleme12 · 08/05/2022 01:41

I think it's wierd what they've done to David and Rosa

PaddlingLikeADuck · 08/05/2022 10:08

I'm not sure why you're going out of your way to refer to Sah as "her" when their pronouns have been made abundantly clear - and I'm also not sure why their sex matters? You're not entitled to know.

What’s with the argumentative, defensive tone?

“I’m not entitled to know about Sha’s sex? What on earth? It’s a fictional character in a TV programme and I’m talking about sex, not gender. I absolutely understand that Sha is they/them, but I’m making reference to the sex of the actor as the character is played so well I genuinely couldn’t tell.

And I didn’t go “out of my way” to refer to Sah as ‘her’ - I said it once in reference to when Sah was known as Sarah about 10 years ago whilst at school.

I agree though that all the disclosing of her past with constant referencing to her being Sarah was quite unnecessary and I don’t understand why they’ve suddenly made such a big issue out of it.

Its now gone from just being a very inclusive storyline which completely normalises the use of they/them terms to now being a ‘storyline’.

PaddlingLikeADuck · 08/05/2022 10:11

Yes I thought there were hints that there was something off about the friend which was wierd cos I thought he really was going to be an ally to him

The way he was questioning David about what happens if ambulances can’t get to major incident sites etc just seemed a bit weird. And it’s not like he just casually asked about it once - he seemed more like he was probing into the details of it rather than simply being curious.

purpleme12 · 08/05/2022 10:38

It was the odd smiles that made me think it.
Like he was sneaking something

TrashyPanda · 08/05/2022 18:46

Maybe if Sah wasn’t such a stroppy moo I’d care more about Sah.
as it is, I find Sah unpleasant at best. Or maybe the actor is rather one-dimensional

this is the second ep we’ve had all about Sahs (not particularly interesting) past. One was quite sufficient.

I wonder if we are ever going to find out what is happening with Rosa and David. He’s such a good actor who totally inhabits his character.

Mumdiva99 · 09/05/2022 06:40

I'm sure the ripped up card will come into play later, probably from their mother or another family member who can't accept who they are.

I thought the mum went missing before Sah came out. Because the school friend knew all about that and Sah didn't come out until later.

I'm also sad Rosa has gone. I thought we found out what the mystery illness was but also can't remember it. I thought it wasn't her.

What is going on with Ollies friend - I like the guesses above....please no school shooting.

JustDanceAddict · 09/05/2022 16:43

I haven’t seen last Sat’s episode yet but I love David too, he’s such a great character.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/05/2022 14:09

I don’t care that sar was sarah or that they are them or they

i was watching something the other day. Cant R.E.M. what and it was they them not he she

seems to be really pushed into programmes at the moment

wouid like to know more of Rosa. Sounds like they haven’t spoken in months

back on this sat coming

The best thing I can say about this ep is that the Ian storyline is finally over.

Casualty has a bad habit of doing these multi-ep story arcs, but IMO they just drag things out far too long.

why does Paige do her hair and makeup like she is a toddler?

I'm slight concerned it won't be. What if Iain decides to look after the two women - help then set themselves up.

Have to say I let put an exasperated sigh when Paige was crying in thr toilets.

Is there now more staff stories than there were years ago? They seem to take up most of the plots. Probably going back years, I feel there used to be more one off patient stories- two or three an episode. Mind you, I'm OK with the Paige story if it means more Rash.

TrashyPanda · 22/05/2022 11:35

More Rash would be a good thing! He is so lovely.

watching Classic Casualty, staff storylines were more subtle, and developed slowly. Now it is so in your face and wham bam, thank you ma’am.

spiderlight · 22/05/2022 12:24

It used to be far more about the patients. Every episode would start with a spot-the-victim scene and the staff stories were almost incidental. The balance has tipped far too far the other way now though.

Spidey66 · 22/05/2022 15:28

I love Iain's passion and anger but wish he'd stop trying to play the bloody hero all the time.
