My immediate thoughts at the time of the scene were that it would be the Gail Vella murder weapon that has never been found. Although not sure how that could be a big reveal unless it turns out it wasn't Carl Banks after all and the murderer has foolishly left DNA on the gun (seems unlikely).

Kate and Steve seem to have a tense discussion with Hastings.
Hastings seems tense in all photos.
Kate looks like she used her weapon and Steve is giving sitrep while also clutching his gun. It could be after the ambush on the prison transport van where we saw Kate with a drawn gun.
Hastings leaves the police station where Lakewell was held. I do not know why it is significant.
Noone changed clothes since the end of last episode, apparently.

I noticed that Ryan didn’t mention Gail when he spoke about the people he killed, or the policewoman he drowned.

Maybe he had a long list of people he had offed. It I don’t think he would be ‘senior’ enough to have been given the Gail hit. He was just a teaboy.

He was in the police by then, so would they have got him to do it? Until it all started to go wrong, there was mention of him having to go straight in the police (talking to Lisa in S5).

Far out suggestion - when Jo took Kate past the print shop and where Gail lived maybe Gail isn't dead as Jo didn' shoot her and another body was ID as Gail - tbh I'm losing the plot so much it may as well be this

But why would the OCG/‘H’ bother faking Gail’s death?

She was killed to stop her proceeding with the racism investigation, so why would they decide to not kill her and instead kidnap her and hide her indefinitely, and fake the identification of her body? Confused

I mentioned upthread earlier about Jo's bent copper dad and there was a few comments about it must have been referring to the man her mum said raped her but after a rewatch I'm having my doubts.

Kates asks about him pre-car chase then, which is when Jo says he's a bent copper and then she's asked about him in the glass box interview and once again Kate mentions it to Steve in the car park.

It seems to be lingering there but have no idea why and how.

Jo took Kate to the OCG Print Shop. Later Jo said something about understanding the significance of the Print Shop when she realised it was overlooked by Terry Boyle's flat. So what is the significance?

I vaguely recall Terry Boyle took photos of the Print Shop comings and goings in S5 and that gave the OCG info on the AC12 raid.

So might Terry Boyle still be taking photos? (Note to self: where's the camera?)

Postscript on camera ..... might it have been confiscated when Terry Boyle's flat was searched. If so, if it wasn't Jo who confiscated it, then it might have been Lomax.

If it was Jo she's playing a very complicated game.

We know Steve has parents as they visited him in hosp after he'd been chucked down the stairwell.
We don't know about Kate. Estranged/Ex H and a kid, but that's all. No family.

I think that's a Jed Herring as it's the same blue sweatshirt Ted was wearing in last season's interview. All the other interviews have been in a grey sweater.
