If it turns out Hastings is proper bent then I will be majorly pissed off. It'll be a ridiculous ending

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/05/2021 14:38

Hastings hasn't really been the focus of any dodginess has he though? The money in the loft is a leftover plot device from series 5. It all seems a bit rushed for him to go from 'back on his game' (as he appears to be) to being arrested?

GrandmasNightgown · 01/05/2021 19:38

S2: Denton's interview when she blew open his financial difficulties, and Dryden decided to keep him. That was, presumably, the start of OCG attempt to recruit him

Ulysses · 01/05/2021 19:41

Ted barely afford a hotel with a working toilet though.

Ulysses · 01/05/2021 19:48

*could barely

GrandmasNightgown · 01/05/2021 19:48

He might if he spent the brown envelopes of cash on himself, and sorted out marital finances.

He's really not quite rational on sorting out his private life. Why?

BurtonHouse · 02/05/2021 16:22

According to a dream I had last night Ted, Kate and Steve end up running a cafe, with Osbourne in the kitchen in a chef's hat and Jo in a floral pinny serving tea and scones. The episode ends with them all rolling on the floor laughing hysterically and clutching their tummies in the manner of Peppa Pig's family.
Do you think I've cracked it??

BentBastard · 02/05/2021 16:52

Anyone know what potential spoiler Craig Parkinson said on Obsessed with Line of Duty?

TedisnotH · 02/05/2021 16:55

I'd like to know that aldo

TedisnotH · 02/05/2021 16:55

*also

diddl · 02/05/2021 17:14

Me also also!

CoteFolie · 02/05/2021 18:30

There's a degree of finality about Vicky McClure's statement and Jed M's response. Both just posted on Twitter.

If this isn't the last series, there's an awful lot of misdirection going on.

So either no S7, or they aren't in it?

Dogatetheleftovers · 02/05/2021 18:49

I don’t want it to be the end of the series. I wish it was 90 minutes like series 5 finale. There seems too much to tie up in one hour.

sorryboss · 02/05/2021 19:10

I want to know too!
Ulysses · 02/05/2021 19:11

Comment from one of the TV reviewers says that “the big reveal is brilliant”.

Craig Parkinson said something along the lines of viewers will be heartbroken.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 02/05/2021 19:12

Well they are hardly going to say ‘well that was a bloody wait for nothing’ are they?

sorryboss · 02/05/2021 19:14

Heartbroken is interesting
I can cope if they disband AC12. I can cope if it's the last series. I cannot bear to think one of the 3 die.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 02/05/2021 19:14

I think one of the 3 will go - one way or another.

diddl · 02/05/2021 19:34

Break hearts because one of the 3 is H?

NeedsImprovement01 · 02/05/2021 19:39

It's hard to see how Ted and Steve will come back from their misdemeanours if they become widely known.

I think it will be hard to retain the original line up for another series and retain credibility.

I have been convinced since the start Kate is bent, admittedly it seems like a stretch at times, but I think it is still plausible. I note Jed has said watch to the end, so I wonder if the story line wraps up and then throws a major twist which may or may not be revisited in a spin off type series.

Maybe ends with Ted catching Osborne after almost destroying Carmichaels undercover case, but being forced to retire on account of the 50k. Steve being given medical retirement - being told to take it or face disciplinary for his addiction. Kate is the last woman standing, takes over AC12 or what is left and in the final minutes takes a call from Marcus Thurwell or something which reveals her to be OCG all along.

TheSpottedZebra · 02/05/2021 20:10

Those tweets DO ,sound final, don't they? But that could be a bluff too

I think that Osbourne will be a big baddies, Carmichael will be not bad but very career driven and focused, and willing to pander to people and overlook other things in pursuit of her own goals. I think Hastings will die, maybe by suicide (when the 50k and the causing the death of the UCO is discovered) like Series1, or maybe he'll 'die a hero' sort of on purpose. Jo will probably be killed. Lomax may as yet be a baddie, given how Steve looked at him.

The message will be that the bad people are like the Hydra- chop off a head and another one grows. Ie 4 is nonsense - they're everywhere. Some are thoroughly bad, some are a bit bad. Some start good but turn bad, etc.

OhWhyNot · 02/05/2021 20:22

Not a spoiler but I do not trust John Corbetts wife Stephanie she is a very convincing liar

And I worry she will bring Ted down 😭
