Do you think it was because of Covid Fiona's husband was such a wet fish? There was nothing in his eyes that said I love you whatever you've done so maybe it was written with the intention of hugging and sloppy kisses.

What can I watch now? I am a huge fan of Waking The Dead and this reminded me a lot of that.

I completely misread your post as saying that you were a fan of The Walking Dead and this reminded you a lot of that! My jaw was hanging off. (I also loved Waking The Dead, too. OCcasionally it pops up on R4.)

The mystery wasn’t as compelling
Cassie - I suppose it was realistic some people really do go out one day And don’t come home but felt rushed and unfair to the character

Yes that's what I think. The storyline felt weak to me and I felt robbed with the Cassie ending.

It felt rubbish that Cassie didn't get to star in her final episode. Leaving scene by voicemail is like getting into a black cab to leave eastenders.

Another vote for Last Tango in Halifax: I thought it would be schmaltzy crap but it isn't. And a big up for Happy Valley (James Norton 😍😍).
I'm nervously casting Anna Maxwell Martin as Sunny's new sidekick...?

No-one can replace Nicola Walker.

They need to go with a really different character.

Have just been watching the latest episode. I must admit that I've frequently been glazing over, and then having to rewind bits to 'get' them. Except I can't do that easily, because of the annoying streaming service it's on!
It's just gone a bit boring. I like people's lives and stories, and the interviews don't interest me much!

I thought he used the race card to protect himself. Ie. If people didn’t respect him, it’s because of his race,

I thought there were a lot of unanswered questions. Ie. Why decapitate him and store in him a fridge. Surely there would be an opportunity to get rid of the body and/or head.

Why was the drug smuggling suddenly introduced? Seemed like an anomaly.

The 24 year who hit Cassie in the car. Surely he would have been badly injured.

Well I finally caught up after the itv app decided to be a dick and wouldn’t let me watch. I had to spend ages fannying around and finally got it working. This the the only thing I watch on itv and I think it knows.

Who chopped him up?
Why keep him? There are loads of ways to get rid of a body. Why keep him?

I'm with you there - but the names they are bandying about would be coming in at Inspector level I would think - main character, not sidekick.

I don't like any of the "big" names suggested that I've seen. All too flashy.

Me and dh have gone back to S1: Cassie looks so young and cheery :-(

It also felt like a copout having her accident to be a complete "accident". A real deus ex machina. Yes, I can forgive the murder weapon being a pen engraved with his initials and the unique serial number (after all, a copper would never consider how identifiable that might be...), a huge string of lucky coincidences enabling our heroes to unpick the past, but a complete randomer killing off the main character felt like lazy writing!

I don’t think the carer was there overnight ? It seemed she just came in the day to manage meals etc? Liz lived elsewhere with her partner.

I had the impression that evil mother was bed bound, so surely there would have to be someone around overnight to help with getting to the loo etc?
