Channel 4 now. Anyone watching? I'm finding it really hard to watch and listen to. How the undercover police do that job talking to perverts all day using that language I don't know, what an amazing job they do though.

It's really hard to watch but I want to see the conclusion of the man they've arrested.

I had to switch it off as I found it so distressing.

Tippexy · 08/02/2021 21:59

I can't think what on earth would possess anyone to watch this in the first place. Hmm

Cheersdickie · 08/02/2021 22:09

It made me cry. I feel sort of compelled to finish it as it is shining a light on the work our justice system does to protect children.. it’s heartbreakingly sad

DarkDisquiet · 08/02/2021 22:14

Not long started watching it on plus 1, and finding it so hard. It's so explicit. Extremely uncomfortable.

AgeLikeWine · 08/02/2021 22:14

I’m watching on +1. It’s tough viewing, but we should be glad that some people are willing to do this work.

Sidge · 08/02/2021 22:15

Strangely I think every parent should watch it, especially those with children using online platforms. I couldn’t believe how blatant these men are in kids chat rooms. It’s hideous and sickening and petrifying.

It was a tough watch. I felt sick the whole way through.

How those police officers do that job I don’t know.

addicted2spaniels · 08/02/2021 22:19

A family friend was a child protection officer, and had to give the job up in the end as the stress was just too much.

Thank god there are people out there doing this job. Imagine trying to sleep at night after dealing with these sickos.

poblwcymru · 08/02/2021 22:19

I managed 6 minutes before having to turn off. I agree that every parent should exposed to the reality of paedophilia, how common it is becoming and how easy children are to engage with online.

Personally, I can't think of any reason we don't chemically castrate paedophiles. The man they caught tonight got 4.5 years; he was a repeat offender. The damage CSA leaves behind is tantamount to murder.

duckalemon · 08/02/2021 22:20

Saw it up until the arrest: couldn't stomach it.
It was quite explicit in what it showed. I watched most of it behind my hands . That undercover officer must be very strong to keep going

AgeLikeWine · 08/02/2021 22:20

The utter stupidity of a paedophile using his actual e-mail address in his real name to attempt to access abuse images simply defies belief. How is it possible for anyone to be that thick?

duckalemon · 08/02/2021 22:22

Only 4.5 years?

That man, what a miserable existence he had. What a waste of oxygen.

What scares me is how prevalent it is.

Serenschintte · 08/02/2021 22:28

Im watching it on catch up now. Chemical castration is too kind really. And the sentences are far too short.
It’s enraging

Standrewsschool · 08/02/2021 22:30

I felt sick watching it. Can’t believe how short the sentences were.

Who were these kids being filmed. Did their parents allow it? I felt so sorry for them.

whymewhyme · 08/02/2021 22:50

I watched 2mins and had to turn it off, I'm gutted! I can not believe children are subjected to such a terrible horrific acts and recorded at the same time. I have cryed since i turned it off and i want to go and hug my babies!!

I feel like i need to do somthing to help stop this happening to children but what??

whymewhyme · 08/02/2021 22:52

Who are the children, I can't imagain what kind of life they must have! it's devestating.

Pebbledashery · 08/02/2021 22:56

I wanted to watch this but I don't actually think I can bring myself to having a small daughter.. It will make me sob.

QueenPaw · 08/02/2021 22:59

@whymewhyme I'll post this website. It's photos of clothing/objects that they need help with identifying, it's been posted before on other threads. Nothing graphic

chestnutSquash · 08/02/2021 23:03

Honestly, I would want to just lock them all up indefinitely. The police are so calm and polite. I couldn't do that. The rage and disgust would be too much. There are so many of these sick, depraved men. It is horrifying.

ParkheadParadise · 08/02/2021 23:03

I started to watch but had to turn over.

Groinpainruiningmylife · 08/02/2021 23:05

It sickens me how they get such little jail time. They should be locked up forever.

AgeLikeWine · 08/02/2021 23:10

‘Baby disruption’.

Sad
TheFairyCaravan · 08/02/2021 23:13

I watched it. I found it really upsetting. They both should be in jail, especially the first one who had a list of previous convictions as long as your arm. He said he couldn’t be changed so why keep letting him out?

The second one got off too lightly too. He said he didn’t want to cause harm and pain to any children. What does he think happened to them when the images were being made?

I’m pleased that there’s people like the police, in the program, who are able to do this job because I couldn’t. I hope there’s some sort of support network for them.

Pebbledashery · 08/02/2021 23:15

I would rather work in the sewers or shovelling any kind of manure than do that job. I just couldn't.

I had to turn it off.

It was incredibly unnecessarily explicit and disgusting.
