Anyone watch this tonight?

Just catching up now, it's the same show as "Your Home Made Perfect" but you guessed it.. a garden makeover this time!

It will be on iplayer to catch up on!

OP posts:

I agree, Titus, I thought £8k would buy more than that.

BunnyRuddington · 18/02/2021 20:43

I can't believe they've gone with the first design.

Maireas · 18/02/2021 20:44

Then the daughter announces she's pregnant.......

BunnyRuddington · 18/02/2021 20:44

There's two little children that need to play out there - it doesn't look very child friendly.

I thought that too. Lots of slippy surfaces, rocks to bang your head on and no room fir them to even grow anything.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 18/02/2021 20:45

I wasn't super keen on the gravelly bits of the 8k garden, they looked a bit piecemeal.

Wow I thought the first couple would've chosen the 2nd design. The 1st design is more wow so I'm not surprised the teens/20-somethings chose that one!

TitusPullo · 18/02/2021 20:45

@BunnyRuddington - I know, I don’t think it will age well whereas the second design would have just looked better and better as it matured. I’m a bit sad I won’t get to see the second one now.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 18/02/2021 20:46

Hawthorn and Hazel ! It’s going to need loads of upkeep to stop it looking like a railway siding ( a flooded one if the rest of the design goes to plan).

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 18/02/2021 20:47

Ha a DIY solar fountain/potted feature was already on my list this summer 😁

TitusPullo · 18/02/2021 20:49

The wooden bench area of the budget garden in nice but the rest is really underwhelming.

TheSpottedZebra · 18/02/2021 20:51

That Ealing garden does look good. It looks really really well done.
I presume the soil underneath was pretty non existent and the decking was to cover all the rubble rather then cart it through the house?
Also it's so shaded that a big lawn wouldn't be possible.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 18/02/2021 20:52

Those galvanized silver troughs on the wall are far too sharp for kids!

Gravel is going to get kicked everywhere 😂
I would've done away with the central gravel strip and brought the grass up to the decking so the kids can run between. A few large planters would've had the same effect.

Saying that I liked the majority of the design - the decking, cedar and hidden sandpit!

Thewinterofdiscontent · 18/02/2021 20:53

Ha ha ha ha ha....

TitusPullo · 18/02/2021 20:53

Oh it looks worse than the VR design. I said oh that’s shit to which my husband replied no Titus, that’s £60 grand of shit.

jay55 · 18/02/2021 20:53

Oh dear, it just looks a messy mess.

Letsplough · 18/02/2021 20:54

Am I the only one who thinks it looks shite?
The pathways are awful.

TheSpottedZebra · 18/02/2021 20:54

It looks... slippy.
I think I like it.

jay55 · 18/02/2021 20:55

*Muddy not messy, but also messy.

TheSpottedZebra · 18/02/2021 20:55

But have they stuck to the budget though?

That chap has never made a fire in his life.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 18/02/2021 20:56

Sorry ..mean to laugh. That’s the coldest ,wettest, least inspiring, garden ever.

Maireas · 18/02/2021 20:56

Ahmed needs to get rid of those sharp rocks.

Pusspot · 18/02/2021 20:56

66k !!!

Cloudesley · 18/02/2021 20:56

66k of shit!!!

TheSpottedZebra · 18/02/2021 20:56

Sure, only 10% over.
That's nothing.
