Too many pots for me I think, but I like the fire pit..

I notice they've lost the steps down from their back door though. Other than that I think it looks good.

This is the best one I’ve seen (haven’t seen the whole series)

@Maireas the more the merrier :)

This weeks is my favourite of all the gardens so far but I can’t see how it’s that much better that the garden they already had.

They'll move that table back though, that or walk on the grass.

Thewinterofdiscontent what aspect of the rockery didn't you like?

I did think that the leaf fall onto the gravel would make it look a bit messy in years to come.

Quite impressed by what they achieved (little garden). I was mentally adding up the cost of materials (not labour) and it felt like it ought to have cost more.

I tried to do the zigzag thing in my garden but it didn't look right as I didn't have any hard landscaping. I changed it to curves!

It's really nice, but they still seem to be overlooked a bit.

Lovely garden, perfect for them. Lots of pottering with plants, lovely areas to relax in. I liked the simple contrast in the paving/brick.

The main garden was right up my street - I think it's an episode I'll refer back to.

I thought it was pretty good for £23K going by the cost of re-landscaping, patios, new fence/screening and mature shrubs and trees. Did it include the £3.7K sofa or was that separate.

I honestly think the couple with the £66K budget (Tom Massey design) would've enjoyed something similar. Their garden was longer but the £40K+ difference could've bought an extra patio and plenty of wildflower borders with (rather a lot of) change to spare.

I like the rocks in the gravel ( which they seem to be calling a rockery ) but in the original design he cut the corner off with a proper 1980’s rockery. I see they have modified that to using a log roll which looks bitty.

Oh I completely missed that, I'll have to watch back!

Finally a large garden I liked! Preferred that design to the other one, the sofa was a good call compared to the 4 uncomfy looking wooden chairs.

I liked the small one too, but the overall effect was a bit orange. I think the pots were too small too, constant watering. We have that tripod firepit but never really use it even when we do sit out in the evenings, it seems a bit anti-social for the neighbours (we have a narrow garden).

A much better result this week.

Really liked the £20k garden, they got so much more impact for their money compared to other weeks. Very jealous of their garden. Wasn’t keen on the circular design but I don’t like circles in design in general.

The small awkward garden looked better but I think more could have been done with the shape. I found the pots surrounding the tree bizarre.

The 20k garden was beautiful. My favourite of the series. That design was so clever. That designer is my favourite, she listens and is a mathematical gardening wizard.

They definitely saved the two best gardens til the last episode.

The young couple looked so happy with theirs- I think the tree in the middle and the pergola were just right

And re the big garden - I preferred the other design but the sofa was wonderful Grin. I could spend hours there!

When the young couple get another few pounds together they will easily add in a raised bed in that corner. At least they have the idea now

I love garden lighting. We are finally getting a view of our garden - there's absolutely no view of it at the moment and we are getting an extension built so will be able to see it.

I'm thinking some subtle uplighting of plants will make it beautiful to look at in the winter through the windows and in the summer light the way to the greenhouse!

In my head it'll look like that uplit garden - in acuality it'll probably be a few solar spotlights that'll fail after the first 2 months.

I liked both of the gardens this week - @Quarks69 will be happy that we are happy!

I was astounded at the price of the Acers tho - I've got 3 in my garden, a green, a red and a yellow, and I love them. They were here before me tho!

Had to watch on catch-up due to masterchef clash.
Loved both designs and the cheap garden this week. It's probably my conventional taste but the best garden yet, they really spent on the planting and it shows. Gorgeous.

@ptumbi 😘

Loved, loved that first garden. But wondered if you guys caught the designer say gardens should be 40:60 soft to hard landscaping ratio. How depressing..who made that up?

icelollycraving · 12/03/2021 20:27

My acer is looking decidedly sad and unhappy —dead?—

Yes. And also seemed happy that the clients were happy, in a really human way.
