Know nothing about this but have found some C5 original dramas quite good!

For anyone who like me is still trying to find something actually worth watching.

Just watched the last episode. Definitely 4 hours of my life I won't get back...

It just got worse and worse! I'm actually quite embarassed for the actors in it, most of them weren't good especially the mother in the cabin at the end, just dire.

Guardsman18 · 06/02/2021 13:17

I'm loving these comments. I think we should all write series 2.

It could start with Jodie and Mark having a relationship then a baby together ...

Clymene · 06/02/2021 13:34

@diddl - Cody Molko, who played Daniel, has a Vietnamese mother. In a show which literally revolved around who his parents were, it seemed a bit silly

GetOffYourHighHorse · 06/02/2021 13:55

TomDan was the most ridiculously drippy teen ever. They'd have been better off setting it 4 years later. An 8 year old may have gone along with the lunatic behaviour of Jodie and Jason but by 14 they'd tend be a bit wtf about stuff. Did his facial expression change at any point during his various kidnaps?

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/02/2021 13:59

@burnoutbabe. think it’s only you and me who enjoyed

Yes plot silly

Mark would have immediate found birth certificate and asked for another dna test

If anyone told me toddler blondes wasn’t mine and someone’s else’s I would have flipped

Graciebobcat · 06/02/2021 14:02

I did enjoy it, while thinking it was extremely daft.

Ah, that explains it then!

JaimeLeeCurtains · 06/02/2021 14:25

I found this photo of Cody Molko's parents online. Mr Molko from Placebo and Helena Berg, Vietnamese photographer.

I was thinking though-does a birth certificate prove who you are?

SophieB100 · 06/02/2021 15:18

This thread is brilliant.
Unlike the show which I just binged whilst ironing.
Well, it wasn't a wasted four hours. The ironing basket is empty.
It's like one of the those free books you down load on your kindle made into a series.
I've never seen so much utter crap. And I've watched a lot of crap over the years.
Made Midsummer Murders look like Broadchurch.
Thanks for the laughs on here though Grin

He didn't look like anyone!!! Not even the father he was living with!!
He resembled Tom in the photo but Tom didn't look like his parents either. It was so implausible.
Why was their animosity between Jodie and her father? It was never really explained either. So many questions.

He seemed to accept everything didn't he? His whole life turned upside down, a weirdo lady stalking him and visiting his house. The fact that Jodie was his mum, then not his mum...then expected to grieve with his abductor and for a child he never met! It was hilarious.
MissEliza · 06/02/2021 15:36

That was a ridiculously poor series. I was sorry to see Rupert PJ reduced to such a poor role.

JaimeLeeCurtains · 06/02/2021 15:38

There was maybe a hint that Jodie's dad blamed her for Tom's death, but really, for what? Going to get some more matches when there were five other adults around?

Why wouldn't he blame himself - he was there? Or Ben or Kate or Jason who fucked off to the woods? Where was Mrs WoodenActingMum in all this?

And why did no-one notice Jason was absolutely drenched when someone finally noticed Tom was missing?

Totally absurd Grin

Skipsurvey · 06/02/2021 16:13

i have one more episode to watch, thank god - it is like some awful afternoon tv film

JaimeLeeCurtains · 06/02/2021 16:40

I'm getting more sense out of binge-watching Murder She Wrote on 5 USA Smile

Yes.

After Spooks & Whitechapel...

I wonder how it was pitched??

MissEliza · 06/02/2021 20:04

@diddl I do recall reading interviews with him where he said work had dried up a bit. He's not the greatest actor but he has a certain charisma whereas Jill Halfpenny is so ordinary.

stumbledin · 06/02/2021 20:48

I think RPJ is suffering from what a lot of actresses suffer from.

When young you thought you were hired for your acting abilities, then you realise later on it was for your looks. Because once ageing sets in somehow parts just dont seem as plentiful.

GrannieD · 06/02/2021 21:29

Theres 4 hours of my life I wont get back!! Binge watched it whilst eating pizza and drinking cider....20000 calories up the swanee!

Flibbitygibbit · 06/02/2021 23:02

What happened to Daniel's sibling ? His real mother committed suicide , she had another child ? Where were they ?

Clawdy · 06/02/2021 23:10

Didn't hear that she had another child? Don't remember that.

Hueandcry · 06/02/2021 23:12

There was no other sibling

Applesandpears23 · 06/02/2021 23:52

They should have chucked in a random, implausible but very hot sex scene. Wouldn’t have made much difference to the story line but could have made watching the thing more worthwhile.
