I discovered it today and I can’t stop.

I know it’s drivel but it’s beyond fun and exactly what I needed.

I'm so tempted to watch it again! Though watching Married at First Sight Australia is keeping me going at the moment, and there's a thread about it too. Great escapism!

pink1173 · 09/01/2021 09:11

@PrinzessinCressida that made me really lol! I am completely the same. I Can’t stop thinking about the duke! He has taken over my every waking thought!

binkyblinky · 09/01/2021 09:13

I was so desolate after Conra Kai ended that I turned this on, really liked it! Shit plot but lovely to see such a diverse cast in a period drama, and OMG HASTINGS Grin

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2021 09:15

Just finished last night

On first episode I nearly stopped as so hammy but then got more into it

How was everything so heightened? The trees / flowers looked fake but that would have taken ages. Maybe enhanced to Max in post production

HoldingForGeneralHugs · 09/01/2021 09:53

I looooooved it! Binged it in a few days. I loved all the costumes and perving on the men 😂

I just finished the first book in under a week. Its a short one but if you enjoy regency romance books it really worth a read.

@pink1173 I'm so pleased I'm not alone! He is just unbelievable, isn't he? It's really a bit embarrassing, but I've got a sequence of scenes (Vauxhall fireworks / "this is serious now" and back touching while dancing / painting / THE BRIDGE SCENE lordy / outside the ball at night / speech to Queenie / at the inn / Wildest Dreams montage / desk / "wh- wh- what did you do" / staircase / posing for portrait / final ball and after) that I watch over and over.

I saw somewhere that they are talking about starting to film again in March and we could have a new season by December? Yes please. I wonder which way they would go. The next book apparently is Anthony.

MarshaBradyo · 09/01/2021 10:25

The Duke made it

PrinzessinCressida · 09/01/2021 10:27

Oh and was anyone else unreasonably preoccupied about that really expensive necklace that no one seemed to bother to retrieve?

@citycitycity

Is it suitable for a 9-year-old? We watched Poldark and covered her eyes anytime it moved into the bedroom!
NO NO it's not!!! 😂 Very saucy... Me- pausing Netflix when kids come in- GET OUT

How can one man look so perfect. He's just so...
Chutneymaura · 09/01/2021 13:10

I Can’t stop thinking about the duke! He has taken over my every waking thought!

Thought you said something different to waking then 🤣🤪

rhowton · 09/01/2021 13:17

Hastings is delicious and episode 6 is a must watch if I want to get in to the mood 😂

Hels20 · 09/01/2021 13:34

@PrinzessinCressida what is the bridge scene? I can’t recall it? Do you mean the first time they sit down for dinner at Clyvedon?

PrinzessinCressida · 09/01/2021 13:52

@Hels20 The Bridge Scene is when they're promenading along a bridge and The Duke imparts some highly sought after information to Daphne. There's probably a better name for it - I don't even think they're actually on the bridge by that point. Episode 3. Can't give you the time count yet but at the obsessive rate I'm going I expect I shall be able to soon.

Hels20 · 09/01/2021 13:56

Thanks @PrinzessinCressida - I remember it now!! I thought the music on their wedding night was so beautiful. Am totally with you about the Duke. He is completely swoonsome...and he does remind me a bit of Ross Poldark.

As I was watching I also thought along with PP about how good Rene would be as James Bond!!

PrinzessinCressida · 09/01/2021 17:36

His smile is something else, right? It launches a thousand somethings for sure.

This is the original for the wedding night music:

TickyTacky · 09/01/2021 18:06

I searched for this thread because I simply get The Duke Bridgerton out of my head Wink I'm rewatching the series and have finished the first book, I only started watching this last weekend Blush

Hels20 · 09/01/2021 18:12

Oh what was the book like @TickyTacky? Am thinking of getting the next one as don’t think I can wait a year for season 2!

TickyTacky · 09/01/2021 18:16

It was good, really enjoyable. But I'm usually a book over film person and in this case I must say it's the opposite Blush

Icenii · 10/01/2021 22:40

Just finished it. I wonder whether DH will wear leather knee high boots.

ElizaCBennett · 12/01/2021 14:24

I watched it first, then read book 1, then re watched it. I enjoyed it even more the second time for some reason. Maybe because I understood some of the background. Or maybe because I enjoyed looking forward to seeing His Grace Grin

Hopefully I’ll enjoy watching it for the third time too! Wink

Justcashnosweets · 12/01/2021 19:14

I binge watched it yesterday whilst I was ill in bed. I absolutely loved it! Total nonsense! 🤣 And yes to Benedict Bridgerton. ❤

BaconAndAvocado · 12/01/2021 19:52

Watched the first 2 episodes last night.

The costumes are absolutely beautiful as is the Duke but the whole thing underwhelmed me a bit.

It’s light, fluffy viewing and I will definitely watch the rest -mainly because I’m hoping to see the Duke half naked again-
