It’s on tonight (23rd) and I’m really looking forward to watching it. We need all the laughs that we can get. Not sure what the storyline is but I saw it advertised.

Loved it! Julia's face is just absolutely brilliant - the actor is so talented. The rictus smile at the end when the kids start shouting that Santa's been just encapsulated what mothers do at Christmas so perfectly.

I hope there's a third series. They're only a term into year 6, and they don't look old enough even for that.

I haven't watched the rest of it but I did watch the Christmas Special (anything with "Christmas" in the title will draw me in )

Loved it , and I really want to see both series ( especially the Hallowe'en one )
Loved Julia (completely diffferent from her chaacter of Carmicheal in LoD)
And her FIL.........I wracked my brains to think where I'd seen him. He;s on Inside No9 (the moving house one)

I don't think Meg arrives until series 2.

Anna Maxwell Martin (Julia) did a brilliantly creepy mini-series called 'Midwinter of the Spirit' a few years back - well worth watching if you can find it.

I'm not keen on Meg. I think she's too cartoony even for a sitcom and a bit surplus to requirements.

I can't find anything on when series 3 will be broadcast or even if it's been filmed.

I’m not keen on Meg either! They could have made the character with all sorts of quirks like the others but she’s a bit cartoony as you say, like the scene with the Christmas tree.

I watched again properly last night as I kept getting interrupted over Christmas ! I found it really moving at the end with the snow, the lovely music, liz's boyfriend arriving, Julia getting home to find everything had been done for her and her kids calling out that Father Christmas had been! Lovely

I wasn't able to see the Christmas special until this year, but so glad it was on TV - I loved it!

Sorry that was my fault going on an old thread. Xmas one came up on bbc I.player and i thought it was this xmas and did not realise the date.
