Marcus v Roger was one of the best matches ever at Wimbledon.

The Willis match was good- I think it was funny from the point of view he was playing Roger, on his stage- but the crowd were really up for an upset- it was like a fairy tale.

Oh yes Marcus Willis - didn’t his supporters take their shoes off for some reason? Rublev only looks about 12 now so must have been so young then!

I think Rublev was 18, and Medvedev about 20 at the time.

Which, in (tennis terms) is actually not as young as I thought.

Well done to Rublev. He's now won 4 tournaments since September. That's pretty consistent stuff.

Great to see news coming out of Doha, Fed is back and has been practicing with Dan Evans in Dubai and also at the tournament today, even though they may potentially meet in Round 2.
Dan is looking sharp but I know Chardy is on a good run of form.

So it will be Dan playing Roger in Doha - I’ve not watched any tennis since the AO final but might give that a watch. It will be interesting to see how Roger is after not playing for a year (although it’s not really been a normal year - to say the least )

I'm just watching Stan v Lloyd Harris. Stan lost the first set. He just had a slight chance of a break but didn't quite do it.

Roger seems pleased to be coming back I agree Science, it's good to see him back. Am really interested to see his match vs Evans tomorrow.

He is a knob. It's a pity the ATP won't do what other organisations do when they see something like this, bringing the tour into disrepute etc etc - there ought to be sanctions, really. IMO

Dan v Rog is on Amazon Prime for anyone that has it.

I think it will be a beautiful, old school tennis match, full of great shot making. Dan has certainly had lots of exposure to Fed’s game lately as they have been practicing in Dubai together for a few weeks.

With Rog coming back from the injury, it may be Dan’s best chance OR it could be a beating. 😀

Yes I’m looking forward to watching it as well Science - it will be interesting to see how Roger is - he’s bound to be a bit rusty (or maybe not knowing Roger!) It will be good for me to watch some tennis without feeling stressed - I don’t really mind who wins this one but will hopefully be some good tennis.

Not much rust on Roger by the look of things (although he did seem a bit surprised that he’d have to fetch his own towel )

Yes Dan did play well - Roger congratulated himself on his match point shot but it was pretty impressive especially not having played competitively for over a year - I think Roger is playing Basilashvilli next - Thiem is playing RBA (I think!)
