Well, this is not a classic final is it.

I suppose the same was true of the RG final- but the person I wanted to win, won that. And I'm a hypocrite .

Fizzy- no- and I won't be sticking around for the celebration and speeches- although I like listening Daniil usually.

I had to go out as well and have just come back and seen the score!

Against my better judgement, I am watching the speeches- and there is a lot of booing gone on with the crowd.

The crowd at the women's match was a lot better behaved.

kazza Jane (can't remember her surname) the tournament director woman was speaking, and I didn't catch what she said- it was something about the current situation, I think, but the crowd got very vocal.

She was very head-teacher-ish in her 'when you have all finished=' response.

I like Daniil- even when he loses, he manages to speak with a lot of grace.

They seemed to be booing the woman talking about people getting vaccinated which seemed a bit odd! Maybe they didn’t want a lecture about Covid?

I really like Daniil’s speeches - I suppose we ought to say well done to Djok - it is an amazing achievement

Ok, Fizzy well done Djok- it is an amazing feat.

The fact that the big three still have a stranglehold on the slams after all this time (and really, Djok probably would have won the US Open too- sorry Domi) is actually quite incredible.

I think Djok will probably overtake Rafa and Roger. He will be favourite to win Wimbledon and the US Open this year- Rafa is still favourite at RG, so might get another 1 or 2. Realistically- I'm not sure Fed will win another.
But who knows??!.

I've made it to Wednesday, and I'm very stressed with the whole home teaching lark. At least the tennis was a bit of a distraction.

What’s next in the world of tennis? I’ve completely lost track and not sure what is going ahead and when. I wonder if the french Open will still go ahead at the usual time or if they will just choose a random date again and annoy all the other tournaments?

Wimbledon might be able to have some spectators if everything goes to plan ...
