The Zverev dogs are happy to see the Zverev boys back from Australia.

JaneJeffer · 24/02/2021 13:22

Nicer day here today. It was so windy yesterday. I'm really hoping Wimbledon can go ahead this year.

Raahh · 24/02/2021 13:47

Fizzy as far as we know (because we haven't actually been told from the schools themselves, just that BorisGrin), both dds with go back.
The secondary is a problem. They were a nightmare before Christmas, they are going to do testing- but we've had no details. The head will be desperate to get them, even if they are packed like sardines. DD1 is doing very little work now though- she is totally fed up, I'm really worried about her. I get tears most days from DD2 who used to love school- but now really doesn't want to go back. But that is health related as much as anythihg.

Aww, how many dogs has Sascha got now??!

Raahh · 24/02/2021 13:48

I still can't get my head around the fact RG will have been played twice before we get to Wimbledon.

Fizzywinegum · 24/02/2021 15:06

That sounds tough for your DDs Raahh - must be a bit of a nightmare with the testing etc. I’m sure that our Boris has got it all under control Hmm

It will be strange having the French Open again so soon - hopefully there won’t be sub zero temperatures this time!

I’m not sure if there is anything major coming up in the next few weeks unless I’ve missed something? Monte Carlo here we come Grin

Raahh · 24/02/2021 15:14

There are a few '500' tournaments coming up- Rotterdam/Dubai/Doha/Acapulco/Marseille.

Murray has been in Montpelier this week, but lost in the first round.

I have been trying- and failing- to keep calm about the school stuff. They both need to be back, and will struggle in their own ways.

They will only be back 3 weeks, and then off again for Easter anyway...

JaneJeffer · 24/02/2021 15:26

I'm looking forward to the day I can walk into a room in my own house without hearing a teacher or a lecturer speaking. No real school until after Easter for DS2. His exams have been cancelled and he has no interest in going back whatsoever.

Raahh · 24/02/2021 15:38

Jane it is such a nightmare, Part of me thinks, going back for 3 weeks is pointless. (And given their track record, dd1 will probably end up back home more than she is in)- but I can't face any more trying to get them to do things, when they have mentally checked out. Sad

JaneJeffer · 25/02/2021 13:43

Is it just me or does the ball girl look like a 40 year old?

Grin
StartupRepair · 25/02/2021 23:56

She's 16. Just heard her interviewed on the radio. She is very excited to be in Naomi's photo.

JaneJeffer · 26/02/2021 00:03

Can I apply to be a ball girl at Wimbledon? It might take me quite a while to retrieve the balls though or even get up from that position.

Raahh · 26/02/2021 13:31

I've just seen that Rafa has withdrawn from Rotterdam. SadI was surprised to see him on the list anyway, so not really a big shock.

JaneJeffer · 26/02/2021 14:12

It seems his back is giving him trouble again Sad

Raahh · 26/02/2021 14:16

Yes, it sounds like he made it through AO just about (he wasn't playing his best) but needs to rest up now. The lengthy match against Stef probably didn't help- lots of long rallies in that by the end.

Fizzywinegum · 03/03/2021 09:20

Morning all! Hope everyone is OK

that’s a shame about Rafa not playing Rotterdam but it’s probably best that he rests his back

Is anything else happening in the tennis world? I’m missing it Sad

In tenuous tennis news there was another Boris question on Only Connect Grin - I’m sure the questions on that programme are getting even harder Hmm

magimedi · 03/03/2021 12:05

I'm OK. Enjoyed the lovely weather & got well ahead in the garden.

I read that Djock will not play again until the clay season because of his 'injury' He's, apparently, off to have an MRI.

Raahh · 03/03/2021 13:46

magi Hmm- I suppose major things wise, he is really only missing missing Miami, which appears to be going ahead (IW isn't ).

Daniil has missed his chance to ahead of Rafa in the rankings today, after losing to Laijovic.

PrivateSpidey · 04/03/2021 18:21

I was wondering if Djok would wait until the clay season to play again.

I've been watching a bit of Rotterdam on Prime this week. There've been some good match ups. I ended up getting quite invested in Nishikori v de Minaur yesterday (I was only watching the replay but I didn't know who'd won Grin) it turned into a bit of a battle which Keith ended up winning.

Was pleased to see lovely David Goffin win in Montpellier last week as well Smile

Fizzywinegum · 04/03/2021 21:41

Hello Spidey - I haven’t watched any of Rotterdam but it sounds as if there have been some quite interesting results and Keith seems to have been doing quite well

I briefly saw Andy Murray’s press conference on breakfast telly this morning but didn’t get chance to hear what he had to say - it must be quite hard for him losing in early rounds and not really progressing in lesser tournaments Sad

JaneJeffer · 04/03/2021 22:01

I didn't realise Rotterdam was on Prime. I could have saved myself getting into trouble around here yesterday Grin

Fizzywinegum · 04/03/2021 22:49

What have you been up to Jane Grin

JaneJeffer · 04/03/2021 23:03

Oh just a few deletions here and there. I'm feeling a bit contrary this week! Do MN still do the three strikes thing? I feel I might be getting another one any minute now Grin

Raahh · 06/03/2021 18:20

I have had a migraine/stress headache for the last few days, so haven't watched any tennis. I see Rublev has beaten Stefanos- Stef has had a couple of tough matches to get to the semi. He's had a great 12 months, Rublev.

I saw that Marcus Willis (who famously got through qualifying at Wimbledon, and played Roger) is retiring. It was funny to read, that on his route through the qualies, he beat both Medvedev and RublevShock Grin.
I mean, its nearly 5 years ago- the Russian pair have got a bit better since then Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 06/03/2021 19:23

Raahh I was just logging on to post about Will-bomb! Wimbledon posted some highlights of the Fed match on their IG account and I was just watching it. It was brilliant really. I forgot he came through pre-qualifying, then qualifying to get to the main draw Shock I think he'd won about seven matches or something by the time he played Federer! What a run.

Rublev and Medvedev must have been such youngsters then!

Hope your headache has gone Flowers
