The tennis podcast were discussing the chances of the Aussie players in Melbourne earlier, given they've not had to quarantine etc. They were saying Ash Barty could win it (good shout). I am hoping Milkman will do really well especially to make up for that loss to Fed (was that last year? The only match I can really recall from last year is Fed v Sandgren! Didn't Sandgren have loads of match points?? Oh and I remember the men's final as well but that's about it! Hmm, maybe I wouldn't do that well on Pointless after all ).

All I remember about last year is Frew droning on and on.

I remember by the end of the Aussie open, I had decided I really hated those 10 point tie breaks, that what I remember !

I read yesterday that the Olympics were cancelled and today that's being denied. I can't see it going ahead anyway.

What are the chances for Wimbledon this year?

Jane I'm getting increasingly confused by everything at the moment. I do find it hard to see how the Olympics can go ahead. The idea that thousands of athletes from all over the world, can descend of somewhere that is so densely populated anyway, seems bonkers. Where will they all go? If the current issues Melbourne is having, with just a fraction of the number of athletes involved, is anything to go by, they would be nuts to consider it. The virus will not have vanished by July.

As for Wimbledon- I don't know. Maybe it will go ahead- but without spectators- Wimblesdon itself isn't a huge place- where will all the players go? But I don't think there is a second year of 'pandemic insurance' - I'm sure that was hinted at by Tim during the WTFs.

I don’t think there is another year of pandemic insurance for Wimbledon - even accountant Tim couldn’t wangle that!

Some time last year someone (I can’t remember who ) said that Wimbledon would definitely go ahead either with or without spectators - but who knows what will happen

I also agree that I can’t see the Olympics going ahead - as you said Raahh - the AO has proved problematic enough!

Just seen that Andy Murray’s definitely not going to AO - feel sorry for him but I guess they can’t be seen to be bending the rules for one player - poor Andy - he’s not had much luck recently

Those are lovely Fizzy this time last year (despite the rain) there were snow drops- and even the odd daffodil!- around. But the weather has been strange, between the flooding and the snow , so nothing seems to be appearing this year.

I've survived a second week of 'teaching' dd2. Maths is not getting any easier.

Oh, poor Andy. It was cutting it fine- but he wouldn't have been able to train at all. Most importantly, I hope he has no long term effects from the dreaded lurgy.

I think he was asymptomatic Raahh which seems even more unlucky somehow but at least hopefully he hasn’t been ill and shouldn’t have any long term effects.
