I had to go on YouTube

magimedi · 19/01/2021 09:01

Yamayo Grin My heart bleeds!!

Raah if that's who is showing it I'll be relying on you for commentary!!

OP posts:
Raahh · 19/01/2021 09:03

Yamayo Tomic's girlfriend is something else.

I love the reporters- they really didn't hold back on how they felt Grin. 'Pampered sooks' was my favourite.

Raahh · 19/01/2021 09:06

magi I will do my best - home school permitting Grin.

I've been thinking, there's a whole lot of possiblities in how I could make it fit a school day- Geography, climate, p.e, bit of history thrown in, some bits about wildlife. Don't know if tennis fashion is on the year 5 curriculum...

Raahh · 19/01/2021 09:11

I mean, I'm not sure how it would go down with schoolGrin

Dear teacher,
For the final week of term MiniRaahh did project on Australia, and famous sports tournaments. I know the topics this term are Space and South America, but you know, we fancied a change. Hope you don't mind.
MrsRaahh.

PrivateSpidey · 19/01/2021 09:18

I thought it was on Eurosport as well - am sure I've seen that somewhere but don't quote me either! Grin

Morning tobee Tennis

I've been enjoying the players' videos of their practice sessions this morning (on IG).

Yamayo · 19/01/2021 09:19

Raah I love the shadow minister pointing out he'd washed his own hair that very morning. Grin

PrivateSpidey · 19/01/2021 09:25
Grin

Sorry I was totally out of sync there with my post!

Raahh that all sounds very educational to me Grin

Raahh · 19/01/2021 09:27

Yamayo I laughed at that Grin.
I just kept thinking her hair looked like straw!

I bet Bernie really regrets inviting her along.

Fizzywinegum · 19/01/2021 09:39

Hello tobee Smile

I think watching your mum watching tennis on tv definitely counts as PE Raahh - you could maybe also add some geography in as well Grin. I never seem to see much of the AO because of the time difference but will hopefully be able to fit some in this year (not much else to do Hmm)

We’re getting ready to batten down the hatches for Storm Christophe - the weather has been a bit extreme of late!

Fizzywinegum · 19/01/2021 09:42

Me too Spidey! I seem to have missed out a whole page - I need to catch up on Tomic’s girlfriends hair antics - love it how the Australian authorities are giving them all short shrift!

Fizzywinegum · 19/01/2021 09:46

That video is hilarious - she got into trouble for wearing face masks as a bikini - priceless Grin

Yamayo · 19/01/2021 10:23

One of the joys of this pandemic is seeing Djokovic, whom I've hated since his spoilt habit of forfeiting matches he knew he couldn't win (remember the pre- gluten free days?) officially proving himself to be the arsehole I always knew he was.

JaneJeffer · 19/01/2021 11:12

If only someone had bought this book for Djok...

Tennis - waiting for Australian Open
Yamayo · 19/01/2021 11:27

Grin A friend of mine developed celiac late in life and she misses gluten so much...

Raahh · 19/01/2021 11:33

Jane Grin

Yes, for someone who craves the adoration of fans as much as Djok does, he really does seem to really go out of his way to do stupid things that put people's backs up. And then wonders why he is not Mr Popular. He'd be much happier if he stopped comparing himself to Rafa and Fed and ate full fat chocolate cake. Cake. Imo. Grin.

I took the dog out in between rain showers. The pavements here are all flooded and the park is like a swamp. Storm Christophe will really not improve things Grin. It was very similar this time last year, though- very, very wet weather. Stops people going out, I suppose (apart from us hardened dog walkers Grin).

Raahh · 19/01/2021 11:36

I do feel sorry for people with genuine reasons to be gluten free, but I think (I'm not sure), Djok has chosen to be, rather than it be a medical necessity. I might be wrong. He doesn't exactly look the picture of health on his 'diet' , he often looks drawn and gaunt to me.

Yamayo · 19/01/2021 11:39

Raah at the beginning of his career Djoko had stamina issues.
He seemed to run out of steam in long matches and (as mentioned) frequently developed 'injuries and forfeited games rather than finish them and lose them.

Then he claims he changed his diet, he went woo and GF and his physicality improved massively.

Raahh · 19/01/2021 11:45

Yamayo- oh, I know, it's why I never warmed to him, despite his obvious talent. The constant forfeits etc, and his attitude on court put me off a lot.
Now of course, he has gurus and hugs trees. And believes conspiracy theories about pandemics.

We were right not to trust him. Grin.

magimedi · 19/01/2021 12:01

The first time I became aware of Djock was 2008 when he won the Aus Open. I didn't like him then & have seen nothing to change my opinion since.

Tosser is one of the milder words that comes to mind.

Yamayo · 19/01/2021 12:03
Grin I can't talk though. My parents are friends with a notorious French anti-vaxx doctor and my mother just announced she is 'going to wait a bit' on the vaccine... Apparently if you get the proper medical treatment (her actual words) Covid doesn't kill you. That qualifies as Djoko-talk, right?
magimedi · 19/01/2021 12:06

Sorry, Yamayo it does qualify.

Very tough for you though.

Fizzywinegum · 19/01/2021 12:13

In the immortal words of Nick Kyrgios ‘Djokovic is a tool’ Grin - I never thought I would agree with nick on so many things - it’s quite scary!

I don’t think Djok is gluten free for medical reasons - he also put off having surgery on his elbow for 6 months because one of his gurus told him his body would heal itself Hmm

I’ve never warmed to Djok either magi - apart from that brief misguided feeling of sympathy for him when he was going through a really bad patch and look where that got us!

I’m loving all the AO shenanigans - it’s like a soap opera - Rafa is (quite sensibly) keeping his head down Smile

Yamayo · 19/01/2021 12:15

I need to catch up on the younger players and their social media.
I'm stuck in the early noughties when it comes to tennis.

I still remember Novacek's beautiful flat backhand ...

Raahh · 19/01/2021 12:30

Anyway, it's lovely Stefan Edberg's birthday today.

Cake I bet he eats cake.
