New ’un.

Whose turn on the storyline merry-go-round will it be this week?

@Deadringer

So Steve has lost a son, Kevin has lost a son, Sarah lost a son, Jenny lost a son, Liz lost a daughter, and now Steve and Leanne are set to lose a child. Its a bit muchConfused
And Carla and Peter too
Deadringer · 17/11/2020 22:25

Yes Carla had a miscarriage as did Tracey with twins, but i suppose that miscarriages are fairly common (though obviously heartbreaking) while all the other losses stretch belief a bit too much.

Honeyroar · 17/11/2020 23:26

Then Gemma had four babies to make up for the losses, but might as well have lost them because they’re always silent and upstairs!

To be fair, those losses were spread out over a few decades.

strugglingwithlife · 18/11/2020 09:00

Yeah I was thinking how Corrie has had too many baby and child deaths, Kevin and Alison's baby, Sarah and Todd's, Maria and Liam, Steve and Michelle, now Steve and Leanne's little boy. Talk about depressing!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 18/11/2020 09:08

How many years were those losses over though? Because I know more people than that who have lost babies/young dc.
So not unbelievable sadly.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 18/11/2020 15:15

They still have an infant mortality rate of a banana republic though, Porpentina.

Perhaps in an early episode Emily Bishop dropped her ironing board and flattened a fairy and it brought the entire street an eternity of ill luck.

eggandonion · 18/11/2020 16:21

I have also known people who have experienced miscarriages, stillbirth and childhood bereavement. But it is unusual for it to happen in one street, I think.
It must be very difficult to act the scenes, it's certainly difficult to think about people going through the experience in real life.
I hope the devious redevelopment scheme is thwarted by Kirk, Craig, Alina, Emma and other unlikely lads

JamieLeeCurtains · 18/11/2020 16:22

In RL, Coronation Street would be investigated by the public health authorities as having an unexplained cluster of neo-natal deaths tbh. Statistically, it's off the scale.

I've been avoiding Corrie for a while. I wonder what happened to Cardi woman?

eddiemairswife · 18/11/2020 16:39

No mention of the sinkhole for a few days.

JamieLeeCurtains · 18/11/2020 17:44

How's Shona?

JamieLeeCurtains · 18/11/2020 20:16

So I've tuned back in to see what looks like Carla, Adam and Peter getting pissed and the wrong two are a stone's throw away from a conveniently booked hotel room.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 18/11/2020 20:39

Well yes happening in one, small, street is unusual. But as its set in that one small street then everything has to happen there.
Let's face it, if it was realistic (I have no idea of the drinking habits/child mortality rate etc etc of anyone on my street, bar one lady I used to be close to) it would be a really bloody boring show. So to done extent they have to condense a town's worth of "storylines" into one street.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/11/2020 20:43

I really did not need to see Paul in his adult sized Unicorn Rainbow Onesie .

So, he's knackered and falling asleep . Sarah wants him to go out on a delivery that absolutely has to be done otherwise he'll lose his job.

Hmm . What could possibly go wrong ?

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 18/11/2020 20:56

Could someone please explain to me what Ray is up too and why hes trying to buy everyones house?

Smallsteps88 · 18/11/2020 20:57

Urgh. How predictable and absolute bollocks. Carla and Adam? As if.

Honeyroar · 18/11/2020 21:00

Carla has slept with most of the hotties on the street!

I actually thought Tod was going to hit on Paul too.

Smallsteps88 · 18/11/2020 21:03

She has! That’s because she’s a hottie too. But does she know she doesn’t have to? Grin

I do agree, there need to be some crazy stories. But not dying children. It’s just not ‘entertaining’.
Roussette · 18/11/2020 21:19

So Todd is obviously manipulating onesie man isn't he?

Housewife2010 · 18/11/2020 21:29

Carla & Adam do look as though they would have a fantastic time.

Deadringer · 18/11/2020 21:30

Paul's onsie isn't really man sized though is it? Wink
Carla only has to shag Ken now for the full house.

Smallsteps88 · 18/11/2020 21:31

They do!

PhoebeSnow · 18/11/2020 21:39

I can’t stand carla’s nasal voice!

JamieLeeCurtains · 18/11/2020 22:11

I saw the actor being interviewed once and it was funny how she demonstrated switching from being Alison King to Carla!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/11/2020 22:47

I was really hoping that wasn’t going to happen Sad
