No it was defiantly Perdita, the sister who was killed in the attic. None of them had faces as they faded over time.

I fully acknowledge that there are errors in the series that you know things aren’t how they’re done in England. Phone on the wall in the kitchen, not having electric kettle in kitchen etc. Or their geography is off. (Where do people live that they’re two hours from a hospital in main land England and are also three hours from London?).

Also agree they nailed 1980s fashion. I have seen some things that look like items I had myself.

I’ll be watching to the end.

Thanks for clarifying about Perdita. Doesn’t help making all the ghosts lose their face so you can’t identify them.

For the first 4 episodes I was cackling at the awful accents and clearly fake English sets.

By the end of episode 8, I was on the edge of my seat at the feeling of dread and creepiness of it all.

By the end of episode 9, I was crying!

It's not perfect, but from ep5 onwards the story gets better and the characters more sympathetic.

Did anyone notice how they served up sherpherds pie WITH SALAD

I like shepherds pie with salad! It's great! The pie is all heavy and rich so the salad is a good accompaniment. What else should it be served with?

It's awful- not scary and laughably crass at times.

Lol...maybe I am! I just think salad goes with everything. I love salad though...nothing pleases me more than a big bowl of salad.

Plus...why aren't salad items valid if vegetables are? Proper shepherds pie has it's own gravy within the pie...you don't add more! That would be too wet.

In the 1980s you would never have eaten salad with shepherds pie!

Also, agree that the clothes are spot on even though the accents aren't.

As we know from the thread about salads from the 80s, the shepherds pie salad would have been a boiled egg and pickled onion!

I got too scared, imagination making potential appear vast and very, very dark, so I skipped ahead to the last two episodes

Basically spoiled the lot for myself! Ah well...

Meri I love old fashioned English salads! Radishes, boiled eggs, lettuce and tomatoes...all served with a big blob of salad cream! Oh and cress!

Episode 8 last night. As much as it explained a bit, I thought it was incredibly boring. 😴😴

Ohhhh I loved it. The last two episodes were the best. And I may have cried through the last half an hour. I even bought the song they played as it finished. Not really a ghost story. Just a story I guess.

The last scene as she opens the door and waits for her just made me cry.

Can't wait for the last episode but i just hated the penultimate one. I just didn't care about the characters at all.
My 16yr old went out as he was so bored, yet he's been gripped with the other episodes

I need to say from the outset that I'm not the most sophisticated viewer (rather at the other end of the spectrum).

It was a slow start and the accents were a bit distracting but I thought that the series got better in the second half. The last episode had me in floods of tears and I've just watched it (the last episode) again and was in tears again.

But here's my dumb question. The wedding that framed the whole thing was Flora's, wasn't it? She just had no memory of the events in the story.

Yes, that was "Flora's" wedding, but Flora wasn't her real name.
