Ghosts Series 2 *Bingewatchers spoiler thread*

Afternoon.
Setting up just in case any other binge watchers did want to discuss so the original stays spoiler-free.
Someone asked why Thomas's love letter kept disappearing - I assumed because he was psychologically at peace with it now: does not need to keep rereading source of heartbreak as it was not from his love. But that was a wild guess on my part and not sure why the closure did not allow him to pass on/move on as a ghost like the other one referred to.
My favourite part of the whole series was Pat being lovely to the younger robber, you know, take the better path pep talk...then on seeing him put chewing gum on the table shouting BORSTAL!!!! at the top of his lungs. Cracked me up, probably because of having to try to get all the used gum off school desks with a knife back in the day. You turned a desk upside down and there'd be 30 bits of pink, yellow, white and grey used and discarded gum stuck under each table Envy >not envy.
I also thought the Captain's scenes were beautifully done and I did tear up at them.

Xmas Sad

I'm not crying, you're crying

MissFitton · 23/12/2020 21:02

How gorgeous was that?! 😭😭😭

JonasKahnwald · 23/12/2020 21:28

Oh no I thought it was quite boring! I'm obviously in the minority Blush

Sittinbythetrees · 23/12/2020 21:28

My eyes are still leaking! That was perfect.

LIZS · 23/12/2020 21:29

Loved it. Rude, poignant, fun. Still none the wiser re. Julian's death or the reason he is trapped there though!

Sittinbythetrees · 23/12/2020 21:31

Jonas - I think it was more ‘normal’ than boring, if you can be normal with ghosts. And normal is what we need.

I snorted like a pig at the seeing the queens curtains comment

A bit sentimental but I feel like I need that at the moment.

DH very much wants to go down the shed for a Watneys

NoGuestsCIothingOptionaI · 23/12/2020 22:52

There was another bit about gripping a shaft. I'll have to watch again

I love the rudeness.

I did like this, yes it was sentimental but it's Christmas so why not

Love the bloopers too

Love Robin curled up on the rug

AnswerTheQuestionDamnYourEyes · 24/12/2020 09:13

I've woken up still thinking about it (Not obsessed at all!), it was just what we needed, wasn't it?

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 24/12/2020 12:27

Answer the question it was a real tonic - a brief escape from this shitty year. There has been very little joy of late but this was a lovely little slice of it. It could easily be Saccharine sickly sweet but never crosses that line. It could easily come across as needless smut but again the filth is perfectly balanced so it never feels unnecessary. It is splendid. I can't believe they managed to make me feel sorry for bloody Julian! That is real talent!
