Ahh Helen Worth looks so good! She looks ten years younger than before covid!

Roussette · 05/10/2020 19:58

And her hair!

I just knew this was going to lead up to Leanne taking Oliver from the hospital.

Roussette · 05/10/2020 19:58

Ahhhh no... 'get lawyered up' she tells the Dr

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 05/10/2020 20:04

Can anyone here say with 100% hand on heart, swear on your Granny's grave type thing, that they wouldn't react how Leanne has? Because I know I can't. (And I hope I never find out.)

Roussette · 05/10/2020 20:19

I have no idea, and like you, don't want to find out.

However... I'm not a person to rant and rave at those who are trying to help and I find that horrible in these days and times.
I might be quietly doing something, but one lesson I've learnt is... shouting at people, belittling them, questioning their characters... gets you nowhere.
Doesn't mean you are acqueiscing, it's just doing it in a different way.
I just feel uncomfortable seeing Leanne bellowing at the hospital staff.

Yambabe · 05/10/2020 20:43

The whole Oliver storyline is based on the one from GOSH a couple of years ago isn't it? Same diagnosis, same parent reaction, fundraising for a foreign doctor to intervene, now we're going to see it go to court etc.

I just keep thinking "too soon, too soon" and wondering how Charlie Gard's parents are feeling about it Sad

Agree. I think it’s pretty tasteless to run this story at all but doing it with that sort of hindsight is just awful.

(Agree Steve is looking a bit more ‘solid’ these days Grin)

Spidey66 · 05/10/2020 20:55

For once, Tracy's right, hearbreaking as it is for Leanne and Steve.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 05/10/2020 20:58

Bernard's Mother has a very gruff voice Grin

PennyRoyal · 05/10/2020 20:59

I think Simon Gregson (Steve) put in a good performance tonight. Particularly in the two-header with Tracy.

eggandonion · 05/10/2020 21:03

Logically she's right, but emotions must run high. I thought Steve was a good bedtime story reader!

Roussette · 05/10/2020 21:03

Yes I agree.

It was a much better two parter than we've had for a while

StillCoughingandLaughing · 05/10/2020 21:10

Do you think we’re going to get a storyline around discrimination against gay men giving blood? Or do the scriptwriters just not know that James wouldn’t be allowed to do it?

Smallsteps88 · 05/10/2020 21:19

Agree they were good episodes.

I totally missed any talk of James giving blood. I glaze over when he is on.

excelledyourself · 05/10/2020 21:27

I don't think this is true.

Itstheprinciple · 05/10/2020 21:28

Gay men can give blood can't they? It depends whether or not they've had sex within a certain period. Has James actually had a relationship? It's all a blur with that family tbh. Although the Grace storyline was a good twist.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 05/10/2020 21:42

I thought it was 12 months after the last sexual activity, but according to the link above, it’s now three months.

Clawdy · 05/10/2020 21:55

First time I've seen Steve acting well. That story telling was moving.

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 05/10/2020 22:01

James was with that guy that worked in th bistro/was friends with the father? And that was when the father found out he was gay and went round shouting the odds at the boyfriend.

thenightsky · 05/10/2020 22:03

I had to google who James was. I'm still fast-forwarding Aggie family scenes.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 05/10/2020 22:13

Agree Steve was good tonight. Even if I laughed at his Bernard's Mother voice Grin. Its rare that I agree with Tracy, but I do at the moment. But she's not emotionally invested like the others I don't think so it's easier to be impartial/realistic :(

Smallsteps88 · 05/10/2020 22:16

I’m expecting Nick to side with Tracey and then When Leanne finds out about Sam she’ll accuse him of wanting Oliver out of the way so he could be daddy to his real son.

excelledyourself · 05/10/2020 22:21

Tracey handled Steve well. He said some awful things to her, but she didn't bite back. I only hope she can keep it up when Leanne starts on here. She's not exactly Mother Earth, even to Amy, but I think she does really care for Oliver, and Emma now too.

Smallsteps88 · 05/10/2020 22:26

I like what they’ve done with Tracey recently. She’s an actual person now rather than a caricature.
