I find it really odd that no one ever seems to address Troy’s... quirkyness. Not once has it been mentioned by Ash, an expert or anyone. By now I would have expected someone to call him an oddball or something.

Good point @pastapestoparmesan. He seemed to be the romantic equivalent of the X Factor contestant who can’t sing at the beginning but now no one is acknowledging it and giving him a comedy song. I also think part of this could be because Ashley is simultaneously really mean to him but didn’t just make an early call that he was too weird. I’m still not convinced he is a wrong ‘un, but I was wrong about Matt’s drinking so...

I think that Troy's "quirkiness" is his way of controlling - Ashely has no idea what he's up to or what he's thinking (or if he's thinking . . . ).
