It’s summer which means its the time of year I start musing about which celebs might be up for the glitter ball trophy this year! I was a bit worried we might not be getting a series this year but a quick google reassured me plans are in place.

So it looks like they are hoping for bubbles between the stars and professionals families, possibly weekly CV testing and temp checks. Hair, make up and costume to be done with PPE. Sounds like they could put on a fairly similar show to normal. No audience though, which will be weird. And I guess no gathering of contestants for the scores, which will be weird. Will the whole thing lack atmosphere?

What baffles me is the people on Digital Spy who say they’ve heard of everyone except Bill and Caroline. I understand that the younger generation have never seen Men Behaving Badly because it’s dated badly and never repeated, but surely Jonathan Creek is a classic? And Bill is bloody everywhere.

His album is out November apparently so that's what he'll be trying to promote. So does that mean we're benching another bloke?

I know that lots of celebrities have a stage name that isn't their actual name, but when it gets to the point it is one word with absolutely no vowels, I think they should use their real name.

I want to get to see them as an actual person, rather than their public character. The sportspeople don't just go by their surnames.

The new BBC article says she completes the line-up, so six men and six women (seven female pros, five male).

I'm a little disappointed with the line up, I must say, but I do tend to get a favourite fairly quickly and it's usually someone I've never heard of! So 12 contestants meaning 9 weeks (if 3 are in the final) so given that it usually ends around Dec 13th, I put the starting weekend as the 1st weekend of October?!

Possibly the second weekend actually, unless there are 4 in the final which would mean it would start the weekend before Halloween.... You can't have the Halloween special so close to the start?!

My teen knows Hrvy and Clara Amfo and that's it for her. Hardly pulling in the younger viewers if that was their aim!

Had Jacqui not been named, I might have benched Tony Beak but I suspect he'll be paired with her. They could have let him take Bruno's slot for a series (I know he's marmite for some but did a decent stint judging a Children in need special).
I'd like to see some surprise pairings (Gorka with Jacqui, Oti with Nicola, Anton with Ranvir) but don't think it will happen.

It's a bit B list apart from one Olympic gold medallist, I think.
