I thought I might as well start it. As then I won't have to go searching for the new thread.

Just in case there is anyone suicidal enough to want to sew a kilt. www.facebook.com/489461237840816/posts/3009316582521923/?substory_index=0

Claire deserved to win, although I couldn't warm to her as much as the others - too 'head girl' for me. Sewing was just another thing she could excel at.

I thought Matt's red carpet dress was spectacular, the best of the three. I love the fact that men get to wear beautiful dresses too if they want - why shouldn't they?

Nicole's dress was also stunning on her model. Claire's red carpet dress was the weakest - not that great a fit and the cut out was tiny. But she had been by far the best at all the technical elements so deserved the win.

I loved the show this year, all the contestents were so lovely.

cravingthelook · 25/06/2020 13:42

I loved Matt's dress and I'd wear it even though I've got huge boobs. His partner looked stunning in it.

Claire was good all round ... her transformations got better and better

Nicole became a one trick pony for me by the end

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 25/06/2020 15:01

Blimey, I thought Clare and Liz were both about my age but are 4 years younger than me. I was only basing that on the 90s fashion Liz liked, I had assumed she was definitely not younger than me but looked youthful so not older.

Starksforthewin · 25/06/2020 15:45

Delighted that Claire won with Nicole a strong runner up.

Matt just demonstrated he shouldn’t have been anywhere near the final. His performance with the kilt was rubbish. He didn’t have a clue what to do with such a technical piece of sewing.

Hope they do away with Joe Lycett for next year. I’m not convinced there even needs to be a ‘presenter’ on this show, he does nothing but make tiresome innuendos and call the time.

Haggisfish · 25/06/2020 16:13

No I like joe.

NoProblem123 · 25/06/2020 16:24

I didn’t like joe until I saw that sketch with the parking ticket on Countdown Grin

Stellaris22 · 25/06/2020 16:26

I didn't like Joe till he started hosting Sewing Bee, I think he's great.

mouldygrapes · 25/06/2020 16:48

I love Joe Lycett, and he seems to genuinely enjoy presenting the show, he’s lovely with the contestants too

LadyEloise · 25/06/2020 16:54

If I was a contestant I'd hate to have to put up Joe Lycett and his inane comments while to trying to sew a complicated piece.
It's not funny as it appears sooo scripted.

bruffin · 25/06/2020 17:16

I love Joe, i think he is perfect for Sewing Bee

cravingthelook · 25/06/2020 17:34

I love Joe!

Bouledeneige · 25/06/2020 17:52

I love Jo too. He creates a fun and friendly atmosphere.

iklboo · 25/06/2020 17:54

Joe is really good. It looks like he really puts the contestants at easy and Patrick & Esme seem to get on very well with him.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 25/06/2020 18:36

I’ve seen Patrick turn up in Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back too, I think they genuinely get on.

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/06/2020 19:23

I love Joe.

AngelaScandal · 25/06/2020 20:37

Clare was a worthy winner. Although I find the whole ‘live my life as if I’m in the 40s’ very odd.

SpeedofaSloth · 25/06/2020 20:39

I love Joe.

Liz was robbed, she should have been in Matt's place.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/06/2020 20:50

I loved the show this year, all the contestents were so lovely.

One of the things I love about this show is that although it's a competition, they all seem to be happy to help each other out - and when you have a time limit, spending even a few minutes to advise someone else is a Big Thing.

But it keeps the competition homely and gentle and I love it.

I love Joe, too and I hope he never leaves.

Starksforthewin · 25/06/2020 21:24

I agree that Liz should have been in the final over Matt.

The bbc wouldn’t be able to cope with the optics of having three women in the final when there were SO many men put through to the televised show.

Even though this is an area where women are traditionally higher skilled and experienced.

Starksforthewin · 25/06/2020 21:26

I did think it was very kind of Nicole to try and help Matt with his kilt, even though she was pressed for time herself. I loved how excited her family were, back in Trinidad.

TheNavigator · 25/06/2020 21:30

I think Matt's fantastic red carpet dress showed he deserved his place in the final. I think it would have been garment of the week if they did that in the final.

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/06/2020 21:45

I really didn't like the fit of the top of Matt's dress. It looked too tight on the left and the right side wasn't even when it was fastened.

The bottom was just dull, a lack of style and technique. Nothing interesting.

bruffin · 25/06/2020 22:38

Out of all 6 seasons there have only been 3 men in the final.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2020 22:48

I hate all the "oh, he only got through because he's a man" nonsense. It's rude and unfair.

The judges are the ones who can actually see the garments and aren't relying on edited highlights.
