True, I hadn’t thought of it that way. I suppose I find it frustrating because Essie is being pragmatic (as I would be) in the face of reality. I also think the words like battle, fight and give up are disingenuous about something you don’t have control over. I strongly believe in attitude and approach having a great affect on outcomes but there’s a point when with the best will in the world it won’t change.

I saw a different side to Sacha during this scene. How could he think it was fair to do to Essie? I know what his train of thinking was but it’s just so out of character for him.

That's grief and fear though. I like the fact that he is being this selfish dick, that he's not being good usual selfless self, and Dom of all people calling him out on it, it feels more real than then having a chat about her letting go and him telling her it's fine, anything she wants etc

@OrlandoInTheWilderness - am I dreaming it, or in his disciplinary meeting did Guy say something along the lines of "Even if I were drunk, I'd still be the best neurosurgeon in the history of the world"? My money's on him operating successfully so that he can make Ric see how gifted he is (so much more satisfying than just bumping him off). I really don't want Ric to be dead

Yeah he won't kill him. He'll either be stopped or he'll save him. There's no satisfaction on killing him and I think after HH's son, it'd be too dark

Or maybe he will genuinely try to save his life in order to prove to Ric what a good surgeon he is in the hope Ric will them lay off him - but, maybe Ric unfortunately does die during the operation due to a potential complication of the surgery.

What I have found is that next week is the last episode for a while and then there is going to be a Covid storyline. According to the Metro Max goes head to head with Ric so sounds hopeful that he might survive the tipsy scalpel wielding surgeon?
