Tonight's was a bit heavy on the snot'n'tears, wasn't it? If anyone can devise a way of Fletch responding quickly and successfully to his treatment and stopping Essie thinking that she should be able to carry on life as normal whilst she's undergoing chemo, please implement your plan ASAP.

They showed her getting increasingly stress3d and necking energy drinks. Her "not mother" died and she was sent home by Jaq but collapsed in the locker room with chest pains. She was resuscitated and rushed into surgery for what google tells me is not, in fact, a cabbage but a CABG. Chloe said "but she's only 26!" and Jaq replied "a 26 year old with coronary heart disease".

I wonder if all the drugs trials she's been doing are going to come up into the story.

Essie told the oncologist that Isla was her daughter - not true! She also told Sacha he was the love of her life, completely forgetting her marriage to Raf. My sympathy for her situation dwindles every time she utters such things.

Cam is upping the ante and now has Max's attention as well as Ange. This won't end well...

I hope Nikki makes a full recovery- although she makes some unwise choices in her personal life she's a good doctor, and I like the character.

To be fair, she's raised Isla for pretty much her whole life. To all intents and purposes she is her daughter.

The really dodgy bit legally speaking is when Sacha said he'd look after Isla - at least the mother left her in Essie's care! 😂 You would have thought there would have been mention of contacting Frankie.

when Sacha said he'd look after Isla was that this week? I know he has her hen they suspected chicken pox, presumably he has a spare cot at his!!

She also told Sacha he was the love of her life, completely forgetting her marriage to Raf hmm, I think she's right. I think had Raf lived, they'd have got divorced and she'd have gone back to Sacha. Poor Sacha. I think Raf was lust and excitement not live of my life love.

Heaven only knows why he was introduced, @NewCatMummy ! Probably to underline that cancer is indiscriminate in terms of age, and outcomes can vary considerably (cf Essie, Fletch). I could have taken him more seriously if we'd seen him interacting with them once or twice previously.

I'd hoped we'd see more of Cameron's wickedness tonight, but the worst thing he did was getting snippy with Nikki's awful mother. Perhaps next week... ?

In the last 24 hours I have watched about 8 or 9 episodes of Holby as I hadn’t realised they were still being shown!! I thought all showings had come to a stop at the start of COVID and I was so so so so happy yesterday when I realised that wasn’t the case at all and I have totally binged on catching up on all the episodes!!

Cameron is crazy!!! I’m a bit scared how far he’s going to take it..... maybe he will find a way to cause harm to Ange and then sweep in and save her life...

I hope Nikki stays in the show as I really like her character. I was very surprised she was allowed back to work just 4 weeks after a heart attack and heart surgery though.

I’m finding the Essie storyline so sad I go through phases of liking and disliking her character, but at the minute I really feel for her. And as has been said above, Sacha was always the love of her life. She was always destined to be with him.

Max is starting to grow on me and I’m so glad Louis has been given a proper role. I loved it when Max’s phone rang and the name “Louis” flashed up on the screen, not “Lily” like he had expected.

I used to really like Guy but he gives me the creeps so much these days!
